Wasn't impressed at first, just got a plain flower smell, but months later tried again (don't think I had enough oil on the roller first try) and wow, straight-up orange peel: Love it! I'm getting a bottle. Works great in my Hates Anything With Patchouli Office, and in the middle of winter when I feel like I have scurvy. I find it lasts well enough, though I love putting more on.

Disregard the earlier 5 stars, I accidently hit the enter key and not the tab key. Guaiac smells like a mix of stale lemon, pine sol, and mildew. I had second thoughts about purchasing without sampling (mainly because Red Flower is the promise that never delivers) but the perfume notes seemed to suggest a sweet bright citrus fragrance given a certain depth by its wood notes. However, a disinfectant lemon - not pink grapefruit - predominates. There is no hint of grapefruit, rose, or sweetness. The wood resins in Guaiac veer way off into the varnish end of the resin scale making Guaiac unwearable with my chemistry. Maybe others will have better luck.

at first i wasn't sure about this one... it smelled like i had rubbed orange peel oil onto my wrists. but later...! i'm totally digging it!

The overall impression I got was of lemon-y wood. Though, my friend said i smelled reminicent of marijuana?
