To those familiar with Mark Buxton’s work (Comme des Garcons Ouarzazate, White, Man 2), the words 'an incense perfume from Mark Buxton' have a magical ring. We know they do to us. Mb03 blends the sacral and the sensual in a composition that is as spiritual as it is provocative. The scent goes straight to the resinous and spicy heart of red pepper, elemi and roman chamomile, without paying the usual dues to the typically fresh top notes. It plunges the wearer straight into the glorious darkness of balms and incense, of opulent woods and lush patchouli. The tranquil other-worldliness of frankincense is contrasted with the earthy sensuality of leathery notes, of languid amber, of raw patchouli…the fiery red pepper is juxtaposed with the angelic softness of chamomile…Mb03 is a scent-paradox, a scent-enigma and is highly recommended!
