Champaca (Pyramid Bottle)
Eau de Parfum
by Comme des Garcons LUXE

The Scoop
If heaven had a fragrance, we think it would smell like Champaca. Named after the flower sacred to the Indus Valley, Champaca is a creamy and sweet floral that strikes perfect harmony between flower, perfumed wood and muted spice. It’s absolutely stunning and its velvety beauty truly makes us think of something wild and natural, a perfume that seems almost impossible to have been blended by a mere human. Although the other notes in this perfume dance in and out, the holy champaca flower is and remains the exotic star of the perfume throughout, an endless dance of sweet, a soothing embrace of softness, and an otherworldly touch of something very, very rare. The champaca flower forms one of the five flower arrows of Kamadeva, the Hindu god of love known in the Western world as Cupid. One smell of this perfume and you’ll know why we were smitten at first sniff.

This beautiful fragrance was love at first sniff for me! The woody, incensey opening develops into a rich, warm floral, with ambery, spicy & animalic undertones. lt's stunning in it's complexity & utterly seductive! Must. Have. A. Bottle. 10 stars!

This is one of the most beautiful fragrance, which I tried. Nathalie Feisthauer is a brilliant talent, a true star among many. There are many faces of this perfume, and Champaca is extremely interesting. Not even slightly smells tropical or linear as in many other compositions. This is a parfume for the wedding, but also for a romantic evening, just as for an anniversary celebration ... however, for every important moment, or plain, which will become important. Beautiful fragrance! Deserves more stars than possible.

Starts as a slighty dirty sweaty champaca but the sweaty factor goes away and it's a beautiful soft floral- soft but persistent. I'm not convinced yet that 45 mls is worth the mega bucks but it's still a worthy champaca . Almost a soliflore. The bottle is funky almost ugly but it's not an issue as the perfume is top notch quality. Choose the cube bottle instead if it bothers you. A work of art scent.

on 1st scent i was like hmm this is nice, wasnt blown away but thought it was nice. 2nd time wearing it i realize it smells like a much less cloying and synthetic version of jpg's fleur du male. if ur not familiar with that one u can find it available at many dept stores and sephora. it smells like a creamy, orangey, rose. which is wot luxe champaca very much reminds me of albeit muuuuuch smoother and nice and not as fake smelling as fleur du male. i wouldnt spend the 265 on this frag though. at most id pay 60 bux, dont care how rare the ingredients are.

For 245$ was not blown away. But...yeah it's nice-ish and the drydown is waaay better than the first ap. but my friend asked me if i was wearing oil of olay.

At first i thought, What in the world and Who in the world and then... the fragrance dried down and WOW!! Soft, sweet and SENSUOUS. Very pretty unlike other floral fragrances. Try a sample and YOU be the judge. I am warning you though... Be Careful. :)

Gorgeous, realistic champaca, but not worth it pricewise for me because it's not complex. I think the bottle is unattractive, so this one doesn't tempt me too much. If you LOVE champaca, you must try this.

The Karma Sutra all bottled up. Dot this around your body after a warm shower/bath and your man will willingly grant your every wish. He will beg you. Not a bad thing for we girls.

Fresh and flowery - very flowery! It smells like I plucked a fresh white flower directly from its source and squeezed out a drop of bright green flower juice on to my wrist. Its nice if you like gardenia/jasmine/tuberose type florals but I expected something more complex.

Started out a bit harsh and strong. I sighed and thought: "O well. I'll save money!" But then this most amazing aroma was rising from my wrists and I realized I was in trouble. Soft, delicate, fresh aroma. Like a fresh exotic flower, just plucked from the tree. No perfuminess, no heavyness, no synthetic or unnatural notes. I cannot stop sniffing my wrists. I ordered a bottle in a couple of hours after trying a sample and cannot wait for it to arrive.

Smells woodsy to me with mostly the cardamom and pepper making an initial appearance on my skin. The florals are just a whisper, but they balance out the woodiness and the hot spiciness.

There are wonderful notes floating through this fragrance; it's warm, comforting, unique, slightly sweet, seductive, and 100% CDG in that it is not something that you will smell in a department store (thank God), and it holds secrets for each wearer. The champaca is absolutely breath-taking in the drydown. A fantastic fragrance; worth every penny.

Forgive my limited experience, as I've only smelled champaca in Ormonde Jayne Champaca, but if the dominant note in CdG's version is indeed champaca, then THIS rendition of champaca smells just like orange blossom, and lots of it. Combined with tuberose, this should be a heady-white-floral-lover's dream. Unfortunately it's not mine.

Coming from Comme des Garcons, I was hoping this didn't smell like such the old lady scent that it is, and at this price? Including this, Play and the Guerilla series, I am almost thinking CdG- three strikes, you're out.

Sorry to mention this luckyscent, but your customers can buy a very similar fragrance, minus the flowery language and the hefty price tag, in the shape of Tabac Original, a mass-market mens line from Maurer and Wirtz. (Still, I'm sure there may be subtle differences).

Wonderful, anyone who has smelt this flower will know CDG has this dead on with an extra smoothness to it. i hate the price tag!
