The original Shiloh we described as being “an exciting new gem of a perfume” and 5 years after its introduction we still feel the same way. Shiloh X might be described as being the jewel in the crown for Hors La Monde. It is a scent completely without gender. On a man or woman, the cool citrus top notes, warm spices in the heart and earthy patchouli and woods in the base are like a sense memory of the perfect summer afternoon, a stroll through the groves thick with fruit, the warm, dappled sun on your skin. There’s a duality to the scent, it’s at once playful yet formal, invitingly warm yet as cool as a diamond. It has a familiar sense of impeccable good taste to it, but it is nothing if not youthful and fresh. It's a warm invitation in a formal setting or dressing up jeans and a shirt to Haute Couture. We can imagine this is what we’d reach for when we feel the need to escape to that summer day; don’t we all need a little escape?
