We know you might expect something dark and sultry from the “Nuit” part of the name (just like we did), but you would be wrong (just like we were). Anticipating something smoky and vampy, we were startled by the intensely green opening, spiked with a mysterious shot of sap like sweetness. And then we were surprised again, by violets showing up in all their delicate glory. Exactly what sort of night was this going to be? Happily it turns out to be an enchanting one, as this all settles into a soft, skin caressing floral with woods that murmur and musk that whispers and a very gentle fig. This smells like a pansy looks – purple and velvety and extremely pretty. Not a fragrance for a night on the prowl, but absolutely perfect for the sort of evening that involves champagne, pearls and a little back dress. Frankly, we think it would just as lovely for day, but we’re bold like that. Warmer, richer, and closer to the skin than Ellie D, this can be layered with the original scent as well as worn alone. Luxurious and confident.
