Ellie was inspired by the elegance of the feminine scents of the days past and by the women in life of Jessica Dunne, the creator of Ellie D perfume line, the women who wore those scents with such ease and grace. The breezy feel of the scent was also meant to evoke the freshness of the French countryside. Ellie is an homage to the refinement of the classic fragrances, and yet its stylishly understated, sophisticatedly uncluttered composition feels very modern. The notes form a traditional and very graceful progression from the fresh, citrusy top notes of bergamot and tangerine, to the floral heart of cyclamen, lily of the valley, jasmine, gardenia and rose, to the woody drydown. The classic meets modern in the unexpected twists, like an inclusion of the juicy greenness of fig leaves, which adds liveliness and brightness to the cool, ladylike sophistication of the white floral heart. The creamy softness of the unexpected coconut note paired with vanilla brings a beautiful velvety feel to the green-woody base of vetiver and sandalwood. Feminine, youthful, and stylish, Ellie is one of the most exquisite and delightful scents we have been fortunate to encounter. |
