Don't go with your first impressions of this amazing fragrance. The mushroomy top note dissipates quickly and then its spicy, gorgeous warm muskiness takes over. i am SUPER picky about perfume and I am madly, madly in love with this scent! I adore how strangely natural it smells--like spicy, sun-heated musky roots and leaves. I'm on my second (pricey!) vial of this delicious stuff and have even ordered the spray perfume from the Bruno Acampora website in Italy. Eeek--I am totally hooked!!

I usually am not a fan of Musc, but I do like earthy, spicy & woodsy scents (my usual is H&G Geste & Heeley Cardinal), I visited scentbar in West Hollywood and after a prompting by Rachael, I tried it. At first, I was not sure but after 20 min I am in love- it was difficult for me to drive because I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist- I've ordered a bottle, too bad it is out of stock until end of July but worth the wait! Well worth the price

10 billion stars. I never, ever, ever, EVER want to be without this scent. I'm seriously considering buying a lifetime supply of it, these little phials can be my future daughter's inheritance. It appears pricey but the tiniest of dabs will keep me smelling like heaven all day and the results are WELL worth it. I daresay it smells best at the 5-6 hour mark when it's really melted into my skin and just wafts off me like a cloud of nirvana. I'm telling you. This stuff makes people go haywire nuts - men and women alike (but especially men). It's better than pheromones, if you catch my drift. When I wear this people flock to me, entranced. I wear it when I mean business. It's my secret weapon. It should be a controlled substance. I can't say enough about it, so I'll just shut up. But man, is this stuff good.

For anyone who is familiar with genuine musk (black, red or white), this will come across as light, clean, mildly powdery with a whisper of animalistic hedonism permeating through its nearly aquatic base. However, for all those who have never been exposed to real Kasturi musk, this scent will seem inevitably thick, dirty, very musky and, yes, at times even mushroomy. Having said all that, I really encourage you to try at least a sample of this stuff, as it is one of the finest examples of spectacularly blended commercially available musk.

The oddest fragrance - at first it smells like mushrooms (dark, dank dirty) on me. Later I get the musc but it takes hours and hours. Its hard to get past the initial boggy mushroom scent to get to the good stuff.

Has anybody noticed that this fragrance smells a little different on you every time you wear it? I find it to be one of the most intoxicating fragrances I've worn. I agree with the others that this is a lingering perfume. Even after showering, I can still smell traces of it. Fortunately, I love the smell! I think you are either gonna love this perfume or hate it. No middle ground here!

I was really excited to try this scent as I'm a musc lover from way back. I don't know, I'm not hating the scent, but I'm not loving it either. Smells perhaps a bit too masculine for my taste (and I generally prefer my man to wear soap and water only, so it would not be fair to him that I smell like a guy!). I was hoping that the longer I wore it, the better the smell would get...nope, not on me anyway...too patchouli as others have mentioned. I should have worn this to the Steely Dan concert last night...talk about patchouli, I was choking on it!

Oh, my this really is exquisite. Spicy and gritty at the start, but melts into soft and luscious woods... I'm smitten. I agree with the last reviewer, it's reminiscent of Kiehl's (which I love) but this, to me, has less of the prevailing hatbox-in-the-attic vibe and more tousle-haired sexiness. They weren't kidding about concentration, the tiniest of dabs lasts all day and I am sniffing my wrists incessantly. Must try.

this is gorgeous. musk is one of my favorite scents, this is probably the best one i have ever smelled. the price however, is outrageous. though i would consider a purchase in the furutre after i saved my pennies. til then, my keihls is a good sub. they are very similiar.

This is the only musc scent I really like, and the only one I find remotely wearable and completely lacking in that drugstore perfume nastiness that musc scents usually have. I think it's the most wearable and least cloying of the Bruno Acampora perfumes. Wonderful (but at that price, I still doubt I'd ever splurge on a bottle).

Love! This is a spohisticated and rich smelling musk. I get NO patchouli, thank goodness, though there is a smooth sandlewood and subtle flowers spicing the mixture. Bravo.

This starts out quite rough and dirty, but dries down to a fabulous very soft sexy musk within 20 minutes. Wait for the drydown and it's worth it!

Maybe I got a bad sample, but this scent is a formless blend of patchouli and some dusty rose that never really smells musky in any way (and I don't consider "musty" to equal "musky"). I'm kind of glad this is not working out for me since it's so pricey!

I don’t associate masculine with Musc. I didn’t get much of anything special when it was first tested. Later, it made itself known with its rich (and very sexy) musk and perfect blend of the floral and warm notes. It’s not earthy on me; it’s it ethereal, come-hither sexy and a mood enhancer. This is the one that has both men and women asking, “What smells so good?” Oddly enough, “fresh” and “clean” has been used to describe this scent when worn on hot, humid days. Musc works extremely well with my skin chemistry and has been my HG for the summer. The results are worth the price for me especially since it’s used so sparingly.

Like all great fragrances, this is not a simple, linear, insta-love scent. When I first put it on, I was really disappointed. Like the previous poster, I got a very masculine-smelling patchouli accord. It was "dirty," all right, but not Musc Koublai Khan dirty, no sweat involved, just earthy woods. I was about to resign myself to the fact that I'd shelled out so much money for a non-HG perfume, when I sniffed my wrist again after an hour. OMG! The patchouli had miraculously disappeared and in its place was this heavenly ambrosia. There's vanilla in there for sure, but so skillfully blended with the flowers and spice that you can't tell the notes apart. If Musc had a comparable aroma, it would be Tann Rokka's Kisu (now called Signature), another cult yin-yang scent that transforms from woodsy to sexy, from masculine to feminine. Now I'm congratulating myself on this impulse purchase. I've died and gone to olfactory heaven.

Classic masculine scent, very warm and manly! : -) The main note to me is the fine sandalwood, although the musk is certainly not in the background. The florals are quiet and spicy, not powdery - this definitely bellows "Men Men Men Men Men!" After it dries down a bit, vanilla peeks out and complements the other notes, and the symphony is complete. This would be a very nice scent on a man; women should be wary with their expectations if they are looking for a feminine musk. However, it is warm enough for a confident, earthy woman to pull off, after it dries down and the sandalwood settles. The sillage is excellent, which is to be expected with this line of fragrances - They are all extremely concentrated (much much stronger than an eau de parfum) and should be used with great prudence and care, and never on sensitive, delicate skin.
