Cashmere for Women
Eau de Toilette
by Cristiano Fissore

The Scoop
We know that there are scents evocative of cashmere, we even like some of them, but up until now we haven’t encountered a fragrance that was as perfectly redolent of the luxurious softness and the very characteristic smell of a brand new cashmere garment as Cashmere for Women. Putting it on is akin to rubbing your cheek on the newly-bought expensive cashmere sweater. The way the lightweight warmth of the fabric is translated into the scent is uncanny. The sophisticated top notes create an accord that is delicately-fresh, softly-green and vaguely apricot-like. The heart of the scent is an epitome of understated elegance, with the pure whiteness of jasmine, coldness of lily of the valley and honeyed sweetness of roses. The drydown of cedar, amber, myrrh, vanilla and musk manages to be warm while at the same time bringing to mind that clean, fresh smell of a new cashmere item so dear to our hearts. Needless to say, we fell in love with Cashmere for Women the moment we smelled it.

Pure elegance. Top notes are a clean sweet aldehyde peachy champagne, like wearing lingerie or something expensive. Heart notes on me are a delicious intoxicating harmony, very well blended. Definitely for ladies, not girls. Sillage is lightly spicy, floral and cultured. The base is comforting, cedar and musk, skin scent. I'm puzzling over the soapy dryer sheets/laundry comments, and all I can come up with is possibly some skins turn this one, and some noses have some fun perfume history development to try before getting it. Fissore Cashmere reminds me of an Italian Chanel, if there were such a thing.

I also thought this would be a warm, comfy scent but instead it was very one dimentional and more masculine than feminine. It was a disappointment.

I associate cashmere with softness, warmth and comfort, and this is not what I got from the perfume at all. I found it a bit sharp and light - unusual and difficult to describe, but to me not very pleasant or appealing. Definitely not soft and luxurious as I was expecting - I was very disappointed.

I agree with the poster from Miami. Fabric softener sheets. And not name brand. Dollar store fabric softener sheets. Despite those lovely notes, this is a scrubber for me.

WOW...i finally decided to try this one, i am blown away how beautiful this fragrance smells on my skin. No soapiness at all. I was a bit worried about the Myrrhe, but it blends beautifully. This is definitely a grown up, sexy woman fragrance. I love it.

Applied the sample; smelled a nice peachskin/floral note, and a soft, pretty 'true cashmere sweater' fragrance began. It wasn't wowing me at first. Went to the grocery store and forgot I had it on. At the checkout, suddenly caught a whiff of the most intoxicatingly gorgeous floral/fruity (not syrupy!) scent and stared in amazement at the cashier. She swore it wasn't her! It wasn't until I got out the door I realized it was my own wrist. Awesome. Dry-down was a beautiful cedar, very soft, not overly woodsy. I am buying a full bottle, after several more tries, and that lovely peachskin note is very sophisticated and elegant. I detect no soapiness, but it is reminiscent of elegant old style perfumes (and no, not "old lady"). I'd recommend it for ladies over 30, more likely to pull it off.

I'm really suprised by these comments - it's not soapy at all on me. It smells fruity/incensey on me. Really lovely! Definitely full bottle worthy.

Wow, I am surprised more people do not like this. It is gorgeaous on me. A green, clean scent at first and then quickly turns into a sweet and spicy scent. Reminds me of a Chanel but much more wearable and not as overpowing as a Chanel scent (they make me sneeze!).

My skin isn't friendly with this one at all. To me, it smells like old fashioned hard-milled soap, rolled in cedar shavings. After the soapiness fades, I'm left smelling like a clean hamster cage, which isn't at all what I was going for. Definitely sample before purchasing. If I hadn't been told they were there, I'd never have guessed this had bergamot, lotv or jasmine.

On my skin, this fragrance is just soapy (which I cannot stand). It gets better after 30 minutes but nothing special at all. Luxury? Cashmere? Hhmmmm....

I will purchase for the fall! This is not a soapy clean scent on me. It starts out a bit green then becomes a lovely spicy apricot scent.

CF Cashmere is for women, not for girls. By wearing this you are confidently stating you are elegant, you have money, you don't know anything else but luxury. Which captures the whole spirit of cashmere, I guess. This starts off really soapy, as many have noted, but it's French, finely milled soap... a very classy clean. My nose picks up the lily of the valley most, then the myrrh kicks in, giving the scent depth, sweetness, and a resinous quality. Since this is an EDT, it disappears with a poof! from your skin after a couple hours. While it wasn't love at first sniff, I can see myself scoring a bottle of this in a few years, when I'll have both the age and the bucks to carry it off.

i can assure you if you buy from Lucky Scent you will always get the most unusual fragrance. this one left me trying for ONE way to describe the scent and i cannot. you just keep going back for more! i bet this is one that will be different for all!

I have to change my rating to 5 stars instead of 4; after wearing it a couple hours it's even more beautiful! It fits the description perfectly. So comforting! I'm sad that I want this, because I'm a stay home mom on a youth pastor's salary! (But God always supplies somehow!)

I agree with everything in the three posters before me. The only trouble I have with it is that it kind of smells like Downtown Girl by Revlon that I wore when I was a teenager--launched in 1992--(but cashmere is much better of course). I do not like the memories I have with it, but if I could get that out of my head, it smells beautiful. It reminds me of fall when all of the pumpkin spice stuff is around. I love the cedar and for some reason I smell cinnamon. Lovely...

Very ambivalent fragrance. I keep sniffing it all day long, trying to understand if I like it or not (I usually like exotic spicy and foody-sweet smells). What can be said for sure about this one is that it is very NOBLE. Mature, not for very young, makes great company for a rich, confident woman... It smells like luxury, luxury and luxury again. I can wear it only to bed - my close and image don't fit the smell. It suites a blond-haired woman, wearing white and biege and sitting in a french cafe in the afternoon. If you are such woman or you don't mind to experiment with your image - go for it. Otherwise - sample first! This is definitelly a second-personality kind of fragrance.

When I first sniffed it, it was a huge disappointment - it smelled like men's aftershave. But then the soft notes came out, which really conquered me. I can smell soapy notes in it, but I would never say it's a clean kind of fragrance. I find it rather sexy and heavy a bit, at least on my skin. Try it in sample before buying, the experience is different on different types of skin.

At first, I definitely get the soapy/laundry scent. After a minute or so, the jasmine and the cedar do bring out something unique in this fragrance, it's clean but also slightly spicy and sweet (Slightly). In fact, I really dig the cedar a lot...Personally, this perfume is not my kind of scent, but if you want to wear something that is clean and fresh, you should sample this for sure!

Nothing special at all. And not at that price either. It has a clean laundry smell. It smelled nothing like the description, so I was disappointed. Definitely sample first.

It's not horrible, but I do see how it smells like a generic soap, one that I wouldn't mind washing my hands with, but not one that I would want to smell of for extended lengths. It's not my type of perfume, but if you like soapy scents, go for it.

This is not a soapy clean scent on me at all. The opening is very green but quickly changes to a very spicy deep rose with cedar. The drydown is rich. The spice, cedar and rose stay but deepen with myrrh, amber and a very light vanilla. I think this is a unique and very wearable scent. Love it!

Wow, thought this sounded great, but it's kind of not. It just doesn't smell the way I was hoping it would. And it kind of smells like fabric softener sheets. Oh well.

Casmere for Women indeed super soapy and very clean smelling. Maybe a hint of fruitiness in the very base of it, but it's mostly a soap smell. Please sample first with this one. The description on here was inaccurate for my experience with it.

I am so glad to see that you're offering this gem! I ordered it unsniffed from Germany in December and it has been love from first sniff. It smells not at all soapy on my skin. I smell spiced apricots combined with a classic Chanel, a little cool and a lot comforting. Gorgeous.

Cashmere should be a comfort and a luxury, soft and sweet, in my view. This perfume is too clean, too soapy, too far from my idea of cashmere. It's a skin scent, but not a sexy one. If oyu like clean and soapy scents, you may like this immensely. Not worth the price, really.
