Amber & Spices Eau de Parfum by Montale
Despite its name, the core of Amber & Spices is, once again, the very template of Middle-Eastern perfumery and the source of some of Pierre Montale’s most gorgeous compositions: oud and roses. The dark, balsamic oud brings out the deep winey rose as vividly as if it had freshly been plucked in the night. This time, the vibrant duo is framed by an angular, dry as the desert accord of wood and amber which draws the rose into a tougher, almost masculine register. The animalic tinge of cumin reinforces the leathery facets of the oud, while smoky sandalwood, gently sprinkled with pink pepper and nutmeg, softens the fierceness of this smoldering elixir. |
