Cadjmere
Eau de Toilette
by Parfumerie Generale

The Scoop
The newest offering from Parfumerie Generale, built around a beautiful union of precious woods, rosewood and sandalwood, is delicate and refined. The beginning is a gentle aromatic harmony of herbaceous, almost eucalypt-like myrtle and fresh, green sap, sweetened by honeyed citruses. The heart is a glorious blend of luscious rosewood, with its floral and piquant odor, and the even warmer, spicier cypress. The sumptuous woodiness is tamed and mellowed by the presence of coconut milk, which adds incredible softness to the composition, transforming the powerful, resinous scent into a truly cashmere-like aroma, downy, warm and enveloping. The feeling of velvety warmth is reinforced by the plush base notes, soft, balmy sandalwood, delicately musky ambrette and luxurious, snuggly vanilla. An incredibly elegant comfort scent that will no doubt become a staple in our colder-weather wardrobe.
Cadjmere Notes

I really linke the PG line as a rule, but I'm not getting this one, at all. It's a nice enough sandalwood, nothing extraordinary, and quite honestly a bit oil-shop-sandalwood like. Then, to confirm the oil shop suspicions, you add coconut and vanilla to the mix! Fine fragrance, if you're wanting to smell like a nice oil shop $10 oil.

I wanted to like this fragrance because of the line, but unfortunately it smelled like cotton candy from initial spray to drydown. I couldn't wait to wash it off :-(

Cadjmere is one of my favorites that I finally went for a full bottle of. It's a soothing peaceful creation that starts with an intoxicating slightly powdery spritz of creamy citrus woods, floating on a carefully blended bed of warm woods, amber, sandlewood, and vanilla. The coconut milk is more in the likeness of a woody husk coconut. It's the most subtle coconut accent I've come across. There are a few other scents that I've since compared to Cadjmere like Tam Dao by Diptyque, Dior Addict, Oriental Lounge by The Different Company. Cadjmere is superior to anything else I've compared it to, setting it apart as the best of its kind - a milky mildly oriental cypress/vanilla/tropical/woods. It is a touch on the feminine side, but not overly so. I wear it for a zen-like mood, that has more of a foody/milky powder element than Kyoto by Comme des Garcons which is much more incense woods with no vanilla or coconut.

Two-thirds perfection! That opening is one of my all-time favorites—woody, smooth, slightly green and sweet, instantly enveloping. The middle of the composition is just okay. But the basenotes resurrect my attention, reminding me of the mellow, darkness of Boucheron Trouble's drydown. Has a vibe and sweetness akin to the much-missed-by-me VIP Room Signature and bears a bit of coconutty resemblance to Chopard Casmir. Great comfort scent for the cold of winter.

A while ago I was feutured in the monday mail at now smell this. My goal was to fins my signature scent with the help of readers who knows a lot more about notes and perfume that I do. Before this I had tried a couple of PG fragrances. Almost everyone of them turned stinky on me and I gave up on the line. However a lovely reader (thank you Robin) told me to try Cadjmere and L ombre fauve. And I have to say, this is a lovely and peculiar juice. I've been searching for something fairly complex and I love sandalwood and gourmand notes so Robin was pretty much spot on. I have fair, sensitive and dry skin and edt's doesnt cling to my skin as much as I would like them to. Cadjmere lasts only about three hours on my wrist, but on my shoulders it last for atleast six. I should probably get this in spray form to see if that makes it last longer than the dab sample I have now. And how does this smell then, well it's hard to describe. My first thought was that it's a comfort scent, for thoose of you who like your comfort in wood and not in food. The top notes are somewhat green and gourmandy. I like the fact that you dont get any bergamott or other citrus in the opening as you do with so many perfumes on the market. I'ts the middle thats the best part, creamy sandalwood, done very very nice without being sharp or tickling your nose. This is combined with a coconut note thats not that prominent it just brings some sweetnes to the wood. I also get cypress. The base is pretty faint on me with lovely sandalwood laced with vanilla and supported by ambrette. I have to give this some more time to decide if I should get a bottle, but for now it's my new love. Very peculiar and really nicely done.

Not my style yet 5 stars all the way. It's just too predominantly sandalwood for me to love but anyone who loves this note should give this a go. It's soft & really beautiful.

One of the best sandalwood scents I've experienced - and that has been quite a few. My skin doesn't reveal much if any of the reported coconut but does project a slightly woody vanilla at the drydown. Crazy about this one.

Is anyone else finding just way too much coconut in this one? I think I'd like the soft woods in this a lot if I could just tone down the toasted-coconut scent a little...

I am so shocked that only one other person compared this to Dior Addict! As soon I put this on, Im like, OH MY GOD this is exactly like something else I have so I went into my bathroom and smelt the spray-nibs of all my 50-odd perfumes until I came across Addict. yes almost exactly the same scent at the start, although they don't have the same notes but this is more than just a resemblance. i would say cadjmere has a little something else in it (perhaps the coconut milk) which just rounds it out a touch more, but otherwise the same. I will update if the drydown brings some other changes.

I'm on bottle number 3 now. This scent is so good, I wouldn't care of anyone else likes it-I love it! But I do get lots of people commenting on it and asking me what it is. Wish I could dip myself in it. Warm, snuggly, but in a grown up way.sandalwoody at the base, green woods at the open, something else I can't put my finger on. I keep sniffing to try and take more in and never seem to get enough. I have bought dozens of samples from Luckyscent and this one was the holy grail for me... My only complaint would be it fades too quickly.

I had the same exact experience as Princess Kim below! I totally smelled the B.O., Which is why I take off a star. The BO does go away after 30min to an hour though. Other than the BO, it is a great smell, but to my girly-girl nose, this smells like a man's scent, but a wonderful comforting man scent!

For all you spice/woods lovers out there"-Oh My Darling", you shall say in a hushed voice as you continue to drink in the languid, sylvan beauty of this fragrance. Very feminine, alarmingly beautiful and worthy of multiple applications to suit your lover.

Although the notes include sandalwood, the opening of this, on me, was a perfect, crisp cedar. I loved Cadjmere when I first applied it. Unfortunately, the middle of the fragrance was more earthy and spicy, with a slight undertone of B.O.. It was either what I imagine India smells like, or else a hippie whose head-shop scent was beginning to give way to the body's natural chemistry. Although when I asked around, no one else confirmed the B.O. note, just the fact that I, as the wearer, smelled it, was bad enough. The base of the fragrance was its redemption. It's a lovely sandalwood vanilla, but I wouldn't want to have to wait through the middle of the fragrance to get to the end notes. I sampled this, but would neither purchase another sample nor the full bottle.

This is like a slightly melted After Eight (the minty smell of myrtle) sprinkled with grated coconut on a plate of rosewood. It's a tender, comforting scent that makes you believe everything's going to be okay.. I love it.

This is a beautiful, soft woody, yet creamy parfum on me. There is nothing harsch about this parfum, i love how it lingers around me. Perfect for a man or woman. Another winner from Parfumerie Generale. I also purchased Rose Brulure and absolutely love it.

I loved this for 30 seconds, then it turned sharp and foul like white musk goes on my skin. White musk wasn't listed, if it is in there then it would have been nice to have been warned. To me, nothing is more disgusting than the smell of white musk on my skin, with the possible exception of watery florals on anyone.

Warm and spicy with a slight sweetness that kept me interested the moment i put it on. This is sexy but not in an overt flowery way. I loooooove this and will have to get some.

Smells like a wooden bench (rosewood, cypress) warmed by sunshine sitting in an herb garden...plus a hint of vanilla/powder. I love it!

I found another "unsniffed" winner with Cadjmere from the wonderful PG line. The is an amazing comfort scent that is extremely well blended. I smell milky woods with a hint of spice. This is rich yet soft with great lasting power. Cadjmere will be perfect for the fall/winter days but it also seems to wear well in warmer weather too! A MUST try :o)

This smells like an expensive creamsicle, but in a really good way. I like the play of the citrus against the vanilla, underpinned with ambrette and musk.

I am goign to add another thought to my comments below - while I did not care for this on me, it might be really nice on a man.

Unfortunately, on me this fragrance is overwhelming pine. All I cam think of is Christmas trees. Only after I showered did the pine abate a bit and there was a sweet note (reminiscent of Peaple of the Labyrinths somewhat).

I really love this! I thought I might like it based on the notes, but it is much better than I anticipated. It is cozy, warm, woody and sweet. Dont expect cedar or smoke, this is soft and sweet without being sugary. I get the woody notes first which last throughout the drydown which on me is vanilla, sandalwood and coconut milk with the woods still peeping through. I was planning on purchasing Aomassai but this will be my next bottle. I love PG-my favorites being Bois Blond and Iris Taizo-and Cadjmere is right up there with them. A soft comforting scent that I cant wait to own.
