Here's what other people are saying about Acqua Viva...
Burst of fresh lemon, one-note in the best way! Top notes last a good 30 minutes before fading to a floral musk that reminds me of college and Ralph Lauren Blue.

I just received a memory jog after smelling Acqua Viva. It brought me back to my childhood, in Marin County, California. The family had occasionally eaten at a fabulous fish restaurant that served excellent fresh sea food. The talented piano player in the bar was my grandmother's next door neighbor. The ambience was warm, cozy and comfortable. But the scents wafting in the air were so fragrant and delicious once you walked through that front door, were exactly like this EDP, Acqua Viva. Lemons, fresh squeezed and piquant. Needless to say, I love it. It feels as though I have entered a past, so long ago. And there is no doubt that this will become my signature scent.

Magnificent tonic scent. Bright and lemony, but dry and refreshing. No Lemonheads or Pledge here at all. The yellow jus is so rich in oils, it seems like a pure parfum to me. Not a neroli or petitgrain or bergamot scent... but pure lemon, augmented perhaps with a whisper of lemongrass. Dreamy, reviving and head-clearing when applied after a shower. The drydown keeps the lemon qualities hovering on your skin for hours. Worth every penny.

My signature scent. It is, as many other reviewers before have mentioned, sunshine in a bottle. I can't help but smile whenever I spritz this sexy, citrusy nectar on my skin. Absolutely delightful! I will never forgive Profumum Roma if they were to ever decide to discontinue it!!!

Bright and perfect. Light and refreshing complex lemony scent without being obvious. A touch of spicy cedar, and a little soap. Some elements of a barbershop after drying, but a very expensive one. Very cheerful, summertime smell. My first experience with the brand, and I am extremely impressed. There is nothing common about the offering, and has the makings of a signature scent.

My absolute favorite citrus scent. It doesn't smell "lemony" or sweet-citrus-vanilla, or overwhelmingly zesty. There is a tiny little bit of sweetness to it, but it just calms down the bright note of citrus which it makes it a perfect mix that makes you think of summer. This scent is surprisingly lasting, unlike some of similar kind by other brands/perfumers. I didn't even notice how I went through that whole bottle I bought, even though it was a smaller size bottle and given I am not the biggest fan of citrusy scents. I like them, but don't prefer, when it comes to choices. This one is already gone and I'm here to see if Luckyscent has more of it and thought I'd write a review, which I did only once in many years here.

Summers in Phoenix are brutal. Light fragrances wilt, big fragrances turn vicious. This one is perfect. It's a bright, crisp, and not the traditional lemon you might think. This is an unsweet lemon, mixed with broom and just a hint of cedar (adding depth and richness, no a hamster-cage cedar.) A wake-up smile in a bottle. Perfect! If Eau de Hadrian had not decided to re-mix, this is what it might have aspired to. Now I can enjoy the entire fragrance cycle, without hating parts of it. --Q

So fresh and bright and lovely, with a natural and vivacious lemon and then a beautiful and unexpected cypress and cedar dry down. The newest version of Eau d'Hadrien is harsh and unrelenting. This is neither of those things and defies the comparison I think. It *is* expensive, but it is one of the best citrus fragrances I know. Summer in a bottle.

I completely agree with the previous review... this smells like sunshine in a bottle. A beautiful, sharp lemon that screams sharp lemonade and summertime. If I hadn't already been won over by Orangea as my new summer fragrance it would have been a toss-up between Acqua Viva and Ichnusa. Absolutely lovely...

This is a beautiful lemon! Wow! I love it! I didn't get the longevity that some are claiming. It lasted about 5 hours total, with the last hour being such a close skin scent that I'd have to say it was almost nonexistent. So...saying 5 hours is being generous. Sillage was maybe an hour and a half. I reapplied a second time just to enjoy a few more hours of this completely happy fragrance. If wearing Acqua Viva doesn't make you smile, get your smile meter checked. It's sunshine in a bottle!

Huge, bright, citrus scent! Woody and slightly sweet without smelling like cleaner. Favorite pure lemon scent!

I posted about this scent back in 2010. I am still wearing it. I still adore it and EVERYWHERE I go someone is always saying that I smell fabulous. I also wet a cotton ball with the perfume, rub it on my skin and then put the cotton ball in my bra.

The opening is very fresh and citrusy! It is really very similar to AG Hadrien which is by far my favorite citrus scent. I've tried many citrus scents, but my skin drinks up scents and citrus one's especially don't last on me. This dries down with a soft cypress, woodsy, creaminess. It is very lovely but, it was there for about 2-3 hours then poof - gone. Too bad; I am so longing for a citrus that will last a little while.

I agree that this is very similar to AG Hadrien but that scent always turns on me. IDK if it's the pepper or what but I end up not enjoying it at all after the first 5 minutes. Turns almost sour. This, however, retains the beautiful fresh lemon scent & it's wonderful in the heat.

I crave it all the time. My senses seem attuned to it. The sensuality that arose as I sprayed the air around me was mesmerizing, from the aroma on my clothes and in the air. I am enveloped in a sensuous encounter. It is addicting and passionate. I cannot stay away from it. It is so intoxicating with it's almost too cloying assail upon ones senses. But in the very few seconds that the air dries around you, the scent starts to do it's devious deed which is to transport you to another life and time where you can think exotic thoughts and forget that time is leaping by. The senses reel, the brain on fire. My new true best friend. I will never leave you.

This fragrance is remarkable, extraordinary, wonderful. Fresh, clean, complex and mysterious all at the same time. Worth every single cent.

Lemon for a little while then total cedar. pretty and fresh but a little too pricey for cedar.

This really does resemble Eau d'Hadrien, though without as much of the pepper, which I find nice since Eau d'H turns very strong on my skin after a while. Still, I would definitely suggest that you citrus-lovers out there spring for a sample before buying a bottle because 1. this stuff is crazy expensive and 2. this stuff is NOT, in my opinion, the light smell of many typical lemon perfumes. No disrespect to the previous reviewers who have compared this to a Lemon Drop, but this is NOT a lemon-drink kind of scent.

Lemon drop with cedar....nice combo, a bit sweet for my taste, but nice

Awesome recreation of lemon. Starts off as if you just cut into a juicy lemon. Progressively Acqua Viva sweetens up to a very wearable, cheery fragrance. Also I've found it has great longevity with 8+ hours. The price is the only negative, but it's worth it!
