This perfume is so utterly feminine that it is in a class all of its own. I have met this man and he is amazing. Imagine naming a perfume after your Mom. How can a person like that be resisted?

Very pleasant fragrance, sophisticated, but really the same EA Sunflowers. It was one of my favorite perfume, and so here's five stars for the perfume that is shiny like these flowers.

Tried from the sample, and this is a pass for me. It opens fresh and floral-watery. But it quickly fades to a mild watery-soapy smell, not nearly as pleasant. It's also so weak, even when freshly sprayed, it's almost like "why bother". I suggest the new Perry Ellis 2009 for women as a similar, but much more powerful and long-lasting scent.

Totally agree with Erica's review below; this is fresh and pretty, very similar to EA Sunflowers, therefore easy to wear by anyone. I don't think its much more subdued though, I find this to be reasonably strong, although not overpowering. Not sure if I need a bottle of this though I like the price if I ever decide to buy it.

Laila is a pretty, fresh scent - ultra-feminine and young. It reminds me a bit of Elizabeth Arden's Sunflowers, but is more subdued and sophisticated. It is a cool lily scent with a bit of an herbal twist. If there's watermelon in here, it's not strong at all - this is not a fruity scent. Laila is crisp, light, and clean. A winner, I can see why so many women reach for it as their signature perfume! I'm glad I got a bottle as a gift : -)

Like sweet dew, or a trickling watery scent--very fresh. However, the scent desn't last long. After a couple of months it "turns" and evolves into something pinchy and dry. I suppose that captures the essence of "Laila": It's the freshness of a pure, crisp moment...but it doesn't last long. Once mature, it loses that sparkle--and we should take offense to that ;)!

This smells really good when I put my nose to my wrist, but when I get wiffs of it going about my business, it's too...something. I give it 4 stars though because it smells really pretty and it lasts, it just isnt 'me.'

I love this. I wear it every day. It is soft and lovely, but so, so, so different. I get so many compliments on it. Not heady or overbearing, it smells like soft flowers and melon in a beautiful combination. My husband LOVES it too. Very different, very lovely.

This just did not work for me. I was expecting a soft almost transparent floral with the melon but this was very heady and overbearing on me. It smelled like a combination of Bond No. 9 Chelsea Flowers and Arden's Sunflowers...just too much for me.

This a magical fragrance that transports me back to my homeland. Norway. It is white like the snow-capped mountains, a liitle green like the rolling meadows that cover the mountainside in spring, there are the wildflowers, yes, there is the fruit, the wild watermelon and wild strawberries that you finf growing anywhere and everywhere! But there is also a warm aspect as well, warm like the smiles all the people that live there, and love there. I want to end up there, my first daughter will be Laila. What a gorgeous country, what a lovely perfume! Great job Geir Ness!
