Fifi Chachnil - 70ml

Eau de Parfum
The Scoop
From the name, to the juice, to the bottle, Fifi Chachnil is the quintessential '50's Pinup Girl' fragrance. Make no mistake, she's no seductress, but she is an unabashed flirt. With pink cheeks, frilly panties and an infectious giggle, Fifi is a playful girl. The perfectly portioned blend of citrus and sweet coriander is followed by the 'come-hither' notes of rose, tobacco, and what we could swear is leather, and cinnamon. To avoid being risque the coriander continues to tame the composition. The drydown is a sensual, amber-floriental that never loses its light-hearted nature. More complicated than she looks, but eager to please. Fifi Chachnil is sexy, sweet and full of moxie.

Love love love!! Sweet oriental, creamy and spicy without being reminiscent of an apple pie or candle! I got no rose and very little powder on my skin, sounds like its very chemistry dependent as I look at other reviews. Not as overwhelmingly girly as I expected, actually almost masculine in a pleasant way for the first 20m or so. Complex and gorgeous, works just as well with your black skirt suit at the office as it does with that cute little negligee in the bedroom :). I agree with the reviewer below who suggested it smelled like white chocolate and spicy lilies, but on me a hint of sueded leather and musk is also present. An enticing and distinctive scent. Very smooth, no one note is super prominent. Long lasting (10-12hrs) but stays relatively close to you. This is the first scent I've tried that elicited an 'omg that is SO me' sort of reaction. Classy and slightly retro with femme with a modern twist. My new signature scent.

This smells similar to Must de Cartier in its floral/spice notes but without the galbanum on top.

Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but, "meh." sorry . . . boring/powdery

What is happening?? I'm a patchouli lover, and anything named Fifi, packaged in pink and containing rose should be an anathema to me. But I am becoming infatuated with this fragrance -- my body amps the darker, more resinous elements of the scent along with the coriander, but there's an overlay of powder and florals that gives it a feminine flourish. If this is a pinup girl scent, it's much more Bettie Page than Marilyn Monroe.

Smells like Chanel No 5 to me!

This is only the first day of wearing this scent and I really like it. It is a touch powdery but not overwhelming. It def. makes me feel girlie, which I like since I'm turning 42 soon! Give it a try, you might like it too.

Just put some of this on and, to my horror, saw that the bottle is down to half its original content: partly because I wear it so often and partly because I didn't heed the warning I was given at the time of purchase: to not keep the atomizer on for long periods because the perfume *will* evaporate. 'Tis sadly true. I've been wearing this fragrance a lot because I love it but also made the mistake of not heeding the warning (because the bottle looks so cute atop my dresser with its pink, tasseled spray atomizer) too mindfully. So, learn from my mistake and keep the pretty crystal stopper on in lieu of the atomizer. Also: take the little medallion off so it won't scratch the bottle. Enjoy! ; D

I have no words to describe this perfume! Love at first sniff. I have already ordered samples three times. I think I must have it!
By Anonymous _GR on 9/19/2010
I wanted to love this as much as I love the bottle, but alas, this fragrance does not smell pink to me. The initial burst of spice is great, but everything else is awkward and flat. It smells dirty-purple, or perhaps a golden wheat color, would be best suited for a very special occasion (more special than a party, less special than a wedding) and it's gone in 3 hours. Sigh.

I kept reading how wonderful this fragrance was so I bought a sample; my son described the scent to expensive baby powder...I don't think I'd buy a big bottle of this...

Love at first sniff! Reminds me of pfeffernuesse cookies! Mmmm, pepper, spice and a touch of sweetness.

I bought this without sampling (was feeling reckless), and when it first arrived, I was very disappointed. Floral, frou-frou, not for me. I detest powdery scents and normally wear spicy fragrances, but I love Ginestet's Botrytis and was willing to branch out a bit. Fifi was way too--well, just too much at the time, and I boxed her back up and put her in my closet, thinking to eBay the bottle. Several months later I pulled the box out and spritzed again, and fell in love. I can't remember what I didn't like about Fifi, except that I was in a big woodsy-spice phase at the time and it was too girly. It's still girly, but it's my one girly go-to scent when fragrances like Botrytis are too wholesome, Real Patchouly too dark, Geisha O-Cha too green, and L'Ombre Fauve too bestial. The coriander amps up on my skin and Fifi smells like pink marabou slippers, a high-quality silk negligee, and sex. I don't wear it often, but when I do, ooh la la!

It smells gross. Like bug spray. Overpriced imho.
By Kristy V. Keaton - from Baltimore on 11/7/2008
This one comes down to chemistry. It is perfect on me, but I can see how for someone else it may seem tire-like, bug repellant cola ickiness. It's true that if there was ever a part of you that liked Obsession, you will notice the similarities. Fifi is however, more complex, definitely more pink tassles and less brown ovals. Not to mention way more expensive. I will probably purchase this nonetheless.

To me, who wanted to love it very much. The opening smelled like burning tires. Oh no! After a long time, it actually turned into a slightly spicy warm rose. Although others sad they could still smell the weird distasteful opening. Fifi is a blood red tramp.

After reading the reviews all I could think about was getting the sample, putting on vintage lingerae and "you no what me" heels. Unfortunately I had to trade in my frilly panties for my old girl scout uniform because I smelled like I took a bath in AVON Skin-So-Soft bug spray. However, it wasn't a total loss; I only bought a sample and I didn't get ONE mosquito bite when I wore it to an outdoor concert.

i tried the smaller bottle and adore this totally feminine sexy spicey fragrance. this is soft.. all day long it is a gentle reminder of how fun being female is!!! girls.. you must try it!

One day, I walked into my (uber-hot) chiropractor's office wearing this scent. He stopped in his tracks, turned and looked at me. He said, "What IS that perfume?" When I told him it was the signature scent of a schmancy French lingerie company, he goes, "Figures!" It's such a shame he's married...

I didn't like Fifi at my first sample, In fact, I sniffed and just snapped and put it aside. and then, I tried it again, still, Not for me, and then I wonder why I don't like Fifi when she looks so pretty. SO I decided to give it a try again with another sample, this time the juice looks pinker, (may be changed a bit formula?) Anyway, that is not the point, the point is Fifi is great! and has to wear as EDP or higher. It's rich and playful. You can wear anything PINK and PINK related color with Fifi that will make you a youthful and playful sexy young lady. But when you wear Fifi with BLACK, you know you are confident and people can't take their eyes off you when you walk by with any 4" heals and higher. Fifi's dry down is the BEST part of FIfi, It's a different kind of oriental essence. There is fruit at the opening and little wood and spice at the end. And Fifi smells the best to me actually in Summer, because she is not a super spicy scent but really a playful, youthful oriental fragrance. I can't say any more.. try again if you didn't like it before, you may like it again,.. Maybe. : )

I tried this on account of my love for Anne Plisak. I can definitely see the comparison--they do sit in the same fragrance family. However, Fifi Chachnil turned against me. On my skin, it dried into something I really don like. I think it's the tobacco that is bothering me--and I normally like tobacco as a note. I think it just doesn't work with the other notes in this blend, at least on my skin. IT smelled nice in the bottle.

You have got to be kidding me. Honestly, I have never smelled a sample and immediately HAD to purchase the bottle. This is truly a delicious perfume: spicy, girly, deep...wow. Similar to Sushi Imperiale without the cinnamony bite (which is also delicious) and deeper. I definately see pink when I smell this...yum.

I Luv this fragrance so very much.If your looking for a bedroom fragrance this is it.the drydown is just lovely,my husband likes this one and I do have alot of fragrances.I wore it out one night and when one of my friends hugged me goodbye she told me I smelled so good she wanted to throw me down and you know.... joking of course. This one is a winner!

Too sharp and powdery.

The dry down is amazing, very soft, a little coconut-like and delightful.
By Sheva on 10/5/2007
The Bottle is the best thing about this fragrance. Its way to ordinary.
By Anonymous on 8/1/2007
At first, I thought this was complex yet balanced...thru the dry-down...it seemed a smidge medicinal (aka herbal), however...still appears, clean and clear...very nice...powdery

I don't rely just on my own olfactory sense when trying a perfume; after all, I wear it in part to delight the one closest to me. Of the dozen or so samples I tried, my boyfriend (smelling wines is part of his job!) thought this one of the best: complex, interesting, different than most anything else, pretty and sexy, with no "old lady perfume" aspect.

I love Fifi!!! Everything about it!!!
By SYLVIE on 2/12/2007
I liked this at first, but the dry down reminded me of some kind of generic cola. I wanted very much to like it, but it's not for me.

I'm normally wary of perfumes that come in trying-hard bottles, because I feel the intention is to distract from the deficiencies of the potion inside. But I was pleasantly surprised with Fifi. The mix of coriander with citrus makes the opening smell slightly medicinal, but when it mellows into rose, amber & tobacco, it evolves into this flirty powdery scent and I'm hooked. Many have compared this to Anne Pliska and Fumerie Turque, both scents I've liked on first sniff but didn't find immediately bottle-worthy (Anne Pliska) or found too exclusive to score (FT. Wow, it smells like FT? I'm there!). It's weird... I normally avoid notes like coriander like the plague, and this supposed EDP starts vanishing after half an hour, but Fifi is an irrational love, compelling me against all reason. I think I might have to submit.

Chachnil would be pronounced as it reads: Chach-neel with the approriate Parisian sing-song at the end of the word . . . almost swallowing the final "il." P.S. Haven't tried the fragrance yet. Tola.

Mmmmm...this is delicious!! It's a scent I can't get enough of. Definitely sweet - upon application it reminds me of the old Guess perfume of the 90's (which was gorgeous but stained all my clothing) - but then a while after application, this scent mellows and deepens into a warm and slightly spicy, smooth & sweet confection - I would describe it as musk and white chocolate with a hint of vanilla undertone with a bit of spicy lily flowers, the aromatic kind. It's not for everyone, definitely GIRLY. This perfume makes me imagine I could own a little pink poodle, and drive a pink convertible. But it also fits just fine with my black eyeliner and penchant for crunchy guitar. This ROCKS.

Wow, what a fantastic scent. Not nearly as sweet on me as the description made it sound. Very complex. It does start out with a lot of citrus, but dries down with the sweet coriander and tobacco. I love it. Not perfumey at all, but very noticable. One question, how would you pronounce "Chachnil"?
