Opening with a blast of brisk, cobweb clearing lavender, this smells almost therapeutic until clove, cinnamon, sandalwood and divine patchouli join in. I love and adore Maharadjah!! It's seductive, sweet, spicy, and mysterious. Nicolai has created a beautiful scent. It's definitely not fpr everyone, as the scent is down right heavy and long lasting. Love!!!

I shouldn't love this scent, but I do. Not a fan of either Lavendar or Patchouli, but I do like this fragrance. Unfortunately, my love is brief, because it doesn't last. 30 minutes later and I have not a whiff of scent anywhere. I am a Vanille Tonka fan, and that has great staying power. Won't be a purchase for me.

Maharadjah is a drug. Careful, it is highly addictive! I actually sampled it last minute. It had lavender in it which is my favourite smell so I figured, sure why not?! I used to hate cinnamon and clove until I smelled Maharadjah and now I have come to appreciate these notes. The lavender and spices are well blended. They carry each other well. Nothing overshadows the other which I love. It is such a warm and cosy yet mysterious scent. I am a 26 year old female and I see nothing old lady about this baby! To address one of the reviewers below, I don't understand people who seem to only know one perfume, Angel by Thierry Muggler and compare every other scent on the planet to it. Angel is not all that and I find it insulting comparing Maharadjah to it. They have nothing in common! Maharadjah is an intoxicating spicy lavender oriental, a uniquely hypnotizing one at that.

MAHARADJAH is just the *ne plus ultra* of aromatic spicies. I can't see how there is any finer exemplar of the aromatic spicy. Period. Exceptionally bold, majestic and bursting with so many stunning nuances-- aromatic/herbal, flower, spicy/seed, wood.... sends your brain into a kind of meltdown of narcotic pleasure. The lavender here is grassily aromatic, not in its usual guise of "primly clean" at all, and is poised in impeccable herbal-ly balance to the smoldering spices in the base. In its bold, natural, opulent grandeur, it kind of out-Serges Serge, if one might say so. Highly recommended for serious noses who want to rock a bold, kingly aromatic/spicy/wood.

Tempted by my favourite notes in the description - cinnamon, clove, patchouli - I decided to try this one, but never expected lavender to actually kill what's good in this scent. Opening tone is brilliant - mature Angel with incense, sharp, sparkling, but then lavender casts a dull, stifling shadow and I have a constant impression of some old lady. Sadly, the growing of this scent is for the worse to me. Not my type, not my mix. However, objectively - it's a pretty smell.

MMmm.....I love exotic, heavy, spicy but sweet scents. Scents that draw immediate attention and put hexes on those I encounter. :-) (not really...) This is gorgeous and definitely fits the bill! I love and adore it. I wasn't sure about the lavender, but after trying it, I believe Nicolai is a perfume magician. I will be ordering this one for sure!

I'm a big fan of lavender and patchouli type scents and this blends the two together very well. It is spicy and exotic - I only wish it had more staying power. I can't smell it after about 30 minutes, so I give it 5 stars for the scent and 3 for its ability to stick around = 4 stars.

The best scent in the world. My nirvana, the one I searched for for 20 years, my signature scent I will never, ever be without again. Finding a spicy oriental amber or musk (both of which go skunky on me) was the Holy Grail. The Go-To bottle.

loved the sample as i am a warm cozy spice fan. no flowers or citrus for this girl. i collect amber perfumes and this one is too close to my mercier amber. however.. if someone wants a lighter version that is NOT too heady i would definitely buy it especially in the summer! intoxicating!!!

Smells absolutely amazing in the bottle. I love the idea of lavender and spices, but all I'm left with is the rather appalling smell of a cheap cinnamon candle.
