lnitially this has a green, fruity, slightly citrussy note, then quickly develops into a delicious, sweet gardenia, still detectable on my skin 7 hours later. l love it, just wish it wasn't so expensive!

I LOVE this scent - it is worth the price. It stays on and the gardenia holds up beautifully. I get stopped every time I wear it. It drives my husband completely insane!

This smelled like heavy, slightly nauseating tuberose to me - until I added some Jaline Vanilla, and then it became interesting and rather nice. (I'm not a fan of white musk or Egyptian musk, though, so I'll probably stick with lighter/spicier gardenia perfumes.)

Lovely! Very pretty, green yet sweet gardeina scent, warmed up by a hint of musk and vanilla. This scent is a shape-shifter: After about an hour or so, the gardenia fades and the flirty musk exudes seductiveness. I wish the floral scent lasted a bit longer, but the musk is so pretty that I can't like it any less. Broken up over the price though.....

Yes indeed! Be warned, if you're looking for a Pur Desir type gardenia, this one isn't in the same ballpark. This one isn't on the same planet. The closest thing out there would be Philosycos. Where Philosycos is a deeply bitter with an undertone of unusual cold spice, Gardenia is an octave higher and stops at tart--every bit as green--but softened and slightly sweetened by vanilla. It is absolutely unique. If Philosycos is pour homme, then Jalaine's Gardenia is pour femme!

Try Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Gardenia: it's a VERY inexpensive, long-lasting but not in-your-face perfume, and is, IMHO, the perfect gardenia scent bar none. And I've tried some, believe me!

I have been on a quest for the perfect gardenia perfume for quit some time. When I came across this named simply Gardenia, I thought great. Unfortunately, it smells really clean…. like soap (not much gardenia).

A gardenia that blooms very green at first, with the smell of freshly cut stems and even a hint of ylang-ylang, to my nose. Then the tea and musks take over, and it mellows to a lovely creamy vanillic base that lingers for hours. My husband liked it enough to ask what I was wearing. It would be wonderful and unusual enough to add to any gardenia collection; the only reservation being, of course, the price.
