Dammuso
Eau de Parfum
by Profumi di Pantelleria

The Scoop
The grapefruit is tart, the wood is smoky and the green tea is sharp, but when all of these hard edges come together the result is magical -- smooth, dry, and laced with spice. A rare balance of shadow and light, of warmth and chill. This is a summer night at the beach – the crackling bonfire, the soft strum of a guitar, the hypnotic sounds of the ocean, the cold layer of fog that makes the familiar landscape seem suddenly mysterious. A time to contemplate the unknown, to dream with your eyes wide open.
Dammuso Notes
grapefruit, lime, lemon, blackberry, cardamom, cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver, musk, green tea

I love this perfume. So many layers to take in at once. The sweetness layered with the cedar is beautiful. It has that "I can't quite put my finger on that scent" quality and that layer of mystery makes it a beautiful perfume.

As with others, I found this scent utterly fascinating. For me, it has an unusual salty/sweet smell that brings to mind (though not directly by aroma) the combination of melon and prosciutto or maybe Japanese pickled plums. A very umami smell! Ultimately, I decided I couldn't wear it, but I am very happy to have had the experience.

When it first hit my skin, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. So interesting. After a few minutes, the base of smoky wood/eucalyptus is all I smell. Too masculine for me, but it might be nice on my husband.

It is a combination of contradictions. The top notes are spice and citrus, lemony. But notes of fruit that are evident upon a more intense inspection..... It is clean but not, fruity but not. It is interesting. I like it a lot, but I don't think I've found my signature fragrance yet.

Nice for a unisex fragrance but didn't last more than 20 minutes on me.

This smells like a more effervescent, almost carbonated Feu D'Issey to me (and Feu D'Issey smells exactly like citronella bug spray to me, so it's not that great.)

A little TOO herbaceous, smelled somewhat like medicine and sort of masculine in my opinion. Also does not seem to last very long on me.

I have a chest-of-drawers that is FILLED with perfumes - and my absolute favorite - my GO TO scent - is Dammuso. It is totally unlike anything else in my four drawers and it stays all day. I hestitate to rave about it this much because I like being the only one in the room (acutally, the building!) wearing it, but I have to share because it is that good.

Oh no, it smells like citrusy bug spray on me!

2.5 stars. This smelled kind of herbaceous on me. The fragrance is dry, slightly spicy. It's well-blended, but without depth, like all the other scents from the line. If you're into fresh and light scents you might want to check this out. It's just not my kind of thing.

It's a very near miss at perfection for a Spring/Summer scent. Refreshing tea, gin & tonic, lime/grapefruit when it first hits. Then immediately transforms into the smell of strong grapefruit on me. I don't get much of the musk or spice. Long dry down is to interesting sweetness, and very faint. Pretty & unique enough to keep trying to smell it, trying hard enough to get light-headed!

OMG.. this stuff is elixir of the Gods for sure.... it's delish! And it's not fruity even though it says it has a lot of fruits in it... must be the spices... very cedar-y. It is divine. It is sophisticated and I can't stop smelling my wrists. It is very unusual and the dry down is gorgeous.
