The Scoop
A smooth, confident blend with a playful side. Opening briskly, with bergamot and white lavender taking the lead, the first whiff is seemingly all business. But then we take a few detours along the way on the way to the office – dark espresso, warm and sensuous plum, a bit of fire in the belly from some cognac – and we wonder if we are going to work after all. Perhaps we are going to end up in a leather armchair in a wood paneled room in front of a roaring fire, instead. A mellow melange of wood and warm spice, with a touch of autumnal sweetness – this has the comfortable ease of a classic. Rich and full, but easy to wear. Extremely appealing.

Love the fragrance, hate the packaging! FRANK No. 2 opens fresh, and dries down warm and dark. It would be great to apply just before a fall/winter dinner date, where you can enjoy the freshness of the opening, as it cuts through the cool dry air. Then it will dry down warm, dark, and ready for an evening of dancing. As to the issue of No. 2's packaging, which absolutely no thought was given... I too enjoy minimalist design, but the bottle is as generic as the ones used by the Demeter Fragrance Library (probably the same). The black banner around the top of the bottle, bearing the logo is a sticker (a sticker, really!?!?!?) Prior to ordering No. 2, I thought it was at least black enamel, or something with a bit more substance, but no. To sum it all up, it's a great fragrance for the money, and that's what we're really paying for right?

I bought this blind and it is one of my top fragrances. I'm still amazed at how many compliments I get when wearing Frank no. 2. At $65 a bottle the value is unbeatable. If you're on the fence go for it.

Frank No. 2 starts off green and a tad sharp and forward, but it mellows to a brown-amber and subdues to a skin scent. It is the essence of intriguing contradictions: relaxed formality; a dressy casualness and ultimately mellow richness. I like it a lot. Head and shoulders better than 90% of the department store fragrances out there at this price point. Oh, and by the way, it's a real bargain. Better in the colder months, but not a real problem on mild warm days.

purchased frank No2 by reading the reviews, on the first sray, this men scent comes out very strong one might have second thouhgts, but waite for the dry down then this scent wow turns out very very nice, from all the reviews im suprise that no one wrote this, but here it is it drys down to a very mucho masculine scent that you will be happy you purchsed this, its a mans scent worth the getting its what all the positive reviews say im glad i took a chnce and got it also just to ad it do not smell like any thing else, its frankNo2

Astounding! Sassy! Frank No 2 gets positive comments every time I wear it. Has a confident masculine feel but is defiantly fresh and floral as well. I don’t like florals – on me – but I love Frank No 2

What a pleasant surprise! It starts off very much like Cartier's Pasha - aromatic and spicy - but then changes into a incense-warm-amber finish. And it is a great story the entire transition - as the character changes every so often. This would work for just about any occasion - even in an office provided you applied it sufficiently lightly. I would say this is also like a lot of fragrances out there, but it is a bit more subtle and complex than most. Definitely good. I can't give it 5 stars, though, since it is not amazingly better than some more mainstream mass market offerings. It is pretty unique, and very masculine in a sophisticated way.

I ordered this and have been wearing it a few days. I was surprised to find (from the reviews below) that it is supposed to be a man's scent -- it strikes me as an excellent green scent for a woman. I will wear it in Austin's summer heat, but am loving it today as a comforting, cleansing scent.

When I put this on it has a lot going on and I like it. Smells manly, but original. Once it had been on my skin a while it became a little less complex and smelled VERRY similar to my ex's cologne (Chanel Allure). I'd say that it's more worthwhile than the Chanel version because it's more complex and interesting.

I'm not sure who Frank is, but he gets an "E" for effort with No. 2. Fragrance descriptions are deceiving. Such is the case with No. 2. While it IS a rich and full-bodied fragrance, there is something a bit mundane about it, maybe too normal(!). It is much better than the first one, however, so maybe Frank No. 3 will be "the charm." Divine's "l'Homme Sage" is similar, but better.

If you are looking for something modern, different from the others, but still masculine and sexy; look no further. The coffee essence with cognac is yummy. This company is not afraid to take chances and has hit another home run.
