Here's what other people are saying about Amber Vanilla...
So happy I tested this first - on me, this was more amber and spices and nowhere did I find the “exotic vanilla” that’s been described. The ingredients say it’s just two, but the way the amber laid down it seemed like there is secretly more to the recipe…this one starts out spicy and almost alcoholic and then develops to an almost sticky resinous amber …Usually vanilla peeps out after an hour or two, but this one on me was almost pure amber and even after a warm day and workout, the spice of the amber increased and while not altogether unpleasant, certainly not vanilla on me.

As wonderful as this smells, I-its hard to believe that the only notes are amber and vanilla. As they say . . . less is more. This one, to me, is an intoxicating, gorgeous blend of amber/vanilla wonder. As I applied it there is an oily base to it that may be able to give it staying power, which I am hoping for. No singular spices detected, but there is an undercurrent of light but fragrant woods. Yummy, even, in an oriental resinous gourmand way. It kind of leans toward a smoky resinous vibe, like burning bakhoor or frankincense in a censer or over charcoal. Its puzzling as to why resin is not listed as a note. Not to be eaten but enjoyed in all wearable occasions . . . naked or clothed. FBW.I need this in my life ; )

Sophisticated, smoky amber, sweetened slightly by exotic vanilla (if you are looking for candy-fluff teeny-bopper vanilla, look elsewhere). If this won't get your desired person to be drooling at your feet, either (1) that person is immune to sensual delights or (2) that person does not have a sense of smell. Simply the most sensual amber perfume ever (and I say this as a 20+ year amateur perfumer myself).

This fragrance goes on clean, then gets deep. It starts off as almost masculine then warms up. I've been wearing it for a year and when it's back in stock plan on getting the frankincense.

Way too strong for me! I love vanilla but the amber really over powered me. I didn't hate it, just not for me. If you want a strong lasting scent this is it. I washed my arm three times and took a shower and could still smell it on me!

love love love!! I was hoping that I would really like this because I have been looking for an amber vanilla that suits me and also have been looking for an oil. I am very happy with this sample and will be buying.

I tried this as a sample almost a year ago, and I thought it wasn't for me...however, something made me want to try it again, and the second time I fell in love! I still use Frankincense, Myrrh and Rose Maroc, but this year I wanted something a bit longer-lasting (FMRM seems to wear off after a couple of hours on me) and more noticeable. Amber Vanilla is more potent, and this time I do notice more of an incense base--interesting, but I had received 2 sample tubes, and one tube was a bit more "powdery", and the other had a stronger incense scent--that incense scent won me over. I don't know why the difference in the samples, but I'm glad I went back and tried them again. The bottle is, of course, exquisite, and it looks great on my countertop next to its sister, FMRM. Yes, expensive, but both perfume oils are very concentrated and will last quite a while.

Comes on strong - be sparing with it. The first impression is a pungent, cedar with an incense note. A bit too strong and dry for my taste, but it softened after 2-3 of hours. Now, after 6 hours, it's warm and spicy and delightful. I'm not sure I want to carry the initial scent around that long while waiting for it to mellow; the jury's still out on that one.

Very disappointed. On my skin this turned dank, sour, and musty. I smelled neither amber nor vanilla. This reminded me of a more concentrated verstion of L'artisan Al Oudh. In other words, it smelled precisely like underarm odor yellowing a shirt.

Do not let this blonde concoction fool you. No, though the color of the oil suggests innocent playfulness, this stuff is POTENT. A little dab lasts for hours on end. I get the smoky incensey old gothic cathedral at high mass on my skin, and zero vanilla. I think the incenseiness comes as a result of the amber being really concntrated, instead of it having boswellia in it. Nevertheless, I like it, although I like its (even darker and smokier) black-haired cousin, FMRM, better.

I loved Frankincense, Myrrh, and Rose Maroc (FMR), so I got Amber Vanilla as a sample. It's a soft (as in somewhat powdery), sweet scent, but much stronger than FMR. It lasts longer, but people will smell you coming through the door. Pretty, but not for me...and I don't get the "incense" that others seem to get...mostly vanilla and honey on me.

I really do love this one, it smells like a high mass, but it's sexy and smoky at the same time. It reminds me of Halston Z-14 for men, I don't think it's even available anymore, but I loved it in the 80's...it gives off a bit of sandalwood on me, mixed with amber and that incensy smoke, I get no vanilla but I love it just the same. That being said, it's a bit more on the masculine side, but I love men's cologne! I will probably stick with Amber by Sage, since I get no vanilla in this one from my chemistry, which is a bummer because I LOVE vanilla. Give it a try, it's def a keeper!

Too incense-y and smoky on my skin right off the bat....don't think this is the amber I'm looking for. Don't want to smell like an old gothic cathedral.

Perfect for my "difficult" (acidic) skin- goes on luxurious and fades to an elegant, dry, slightly spicy note. Will become a favorite : I have a hard time finding a scent that agrees with my skin Ph.

I have no idea how a scent based on oils of amber and vanilla turned into "eau de soap" but they did!! Seriously, this perfume smells like a big white bar of perfume-y soap. Your grandmother would have used this scent to wash her laundry.

I love this. Smooth amber made smoother by vanilla . I thought it may be a headshop amber like Black Amber by Michele Bergman but this is smooth elegant ,warm, delicious, skin ehancing sutff. Reminds me of MPG Amber Precieux.

There is a deep, warm familiarity swirling throughout this fragrance. It's definitely sultry and sexy, a dark amber with a hint of creamy vanilla and perhaps a spike of woods? It's not as sweet as I expected, but not as dry as I feared, either. It's a powerful blend, not for every woman due to its almost-masculine energy. It's for steely-eyed Scorpios : -), for women who speak their mind and yet retain an air of mysterious allure....I am especially drawn to the gorgeous, intricate cobalt bottle.

It looks like you either love this or hate this. There's no in-between! I LOVE this! There's nothing like it. Two people stopped me just today to ask me what perfume I was wearing. It's a very sexy, exotic blend. It's definitely amber-vanilla-y, but I find it also sort of woodsy and spicy. It is very sultry and warm. I love it. It conjures up images of a harem or something like it. Additionally, the oil lasts all day for me, which is great.
