A perfect silent reverie in fragrant, oiled hues, Phenomenon is the essence of a still-life portrait. Warm brown tones of cedar wood and vetiver, muted greens of silver fir, delicate, honeyed soft whites of osmanthus and a burst of color from boronia and rhododendron. It was created especially for Sniffapalooza in New York City, an annual gathering of perfume mavens from across the US, and quickly because one of its most sought-after (and talked about) fragrances…try it once and you’ll know why. Complex and shifting, we loved the initial green opening, gasped in delight at its subtle floral-tinged middle and sighed with utter pleasure at its earthy, sweet dry wood base. A peaceful, centered fragrance that never begs for attention because it doesn’t need to…it’s beautiful without trying.
