Maybe this oil is like life. To adore with love and passion the fleeting moments of the reality life. it takes thirty thousand petals to make one ounce of rose pure perfume. That is about more or less a football field of rose bushes. Also because of the valotility of the natural oils they will last shortly compared to synthetics. The artist seems to have made it for perfume LOVERS.

I really wanted to smell this stuff, so ordered a sample, hoping (given the price tag), that I wouldn't like it at all. It smells amazing. The simple rose/cardamom blend is absolute genius. It makes my heart yearn and my head spin. Unfortunately, it lasts about six and a half minutes on my skin. (Apparently I'm not the only one.) If it were a tad stronger and in a base that didn't burn off as a soon as my body heated the oil, I would totally pay the full price for it. As is, I think I will just go on wistfully sniffing my sample vial.

The good news is that I LOVE this scent. It's a two note fragrance (rose and cardamom). I love cardamom and usually loathe rose scents but this blends beautifully. Now for the bad news. As much as I love my other two Yosh oils (I have Omniscent and Ginger Ciao), this one has a big problem. It literally lasts no longer than 5 minutes on my skin. And I mean it's gone without a trace...any trace at all. Not even a stinky-bad trace. if I wanted to smell it all day long it would mean reapplying it every 5 minutes until the whole bottle was used up and I'm still not sure that an entire bottle would get me through the day. I'm glad that I got a couple of sample vials of this at a Yosh event because at $200, it needs to last more than 5 minutes on me. That's a shame because for the few minutes I smell it, I'm madly in love with it.

It has a pleasant, warm, rosy scent with very soft spices, but it does not last long at all. I also do not think that it is worth $200 a bottle.

while the price tag is intense, this is literally the only rose-based fragrance that smells good on me. and wow does it smell good on me! i received a sample back in 2003 and was so infatuated that i tried to mix it myself twice, and failed miserably (and spent almost $150 in the process). so for me, the price is worth it to keep a scent that i really adore. it lasts a surprisingly long time for an oil, too - still spicy after 5 hours.

After thidaat (acronym), this is yosh's biggest ripoff. Rose attar + cardamon - lasting power = 200 bucks??? Look, people, I'll mix it for you for 30 and you can give 170 to the homeless people sitting outside the store.

I tried this in NYC and through a sample, it gave me a headache because it smelled just like a cheap tea rose from the old victorian days. no, potpourrie. thats it, old tearose potpourrie. Can't not even compare the price when there are unbelieveable rose scents out there like Malle's Une Rose. Way way overpriced.

I am in total agreement with the anonymous reviewer from NYC 2 reviews down. "Linear," is the best way to describe it. Pretty, subtle, warm, but not remarkable.

This is a pleasant, warm rose scent with very soft spices. It smells so much like many other cheaper rose scents that I simply can't justify the price tag. The only Yosh scents worth it for me are La Contessa (it needs to come back!) and Ginger Ciao. This is too simple and linear for $200.

Anyway, I don't like this perfume. It disappeared about ten minutes after I put it on. I know how sometimes ya can't smell it but other's can so I asked my husband and he couldn't smell it either. it's not a great loss though, it didn't smell that great to begin with. I'll stick to No. 5 :)

simple and elegant. it might be a bit much to call this fragrance an,"odyssey,"but it is one of the nicest rose i know of. not cloying or granny-ish. on me, the cardomom is very subtle but there in the dry-down...and i did get compliments (one from a fellow lower east sider, but I apprecitated it)...300 is touch too much for this downtown girl, but i'd spring for about 1/2 that.

This is nothing more than attar of roses and its hype is incredibly misleading. I was looking forward to the "spice notes" but they never came to the fore and I question whether they're even in there in the first place.
