Omniscent Perfume Oil
by YOSH

The Scoop
Opening with a fierce peppery blast, this is a lavish, reckless feast of a scent, complete with platters of candied fruit, hookahs and handsome men with bad reputations. If this fragrance were a party, your mother wouldn’t let you go. Flowers, fruit, citrus, woods, incense, herbs – you name it, Omniscent has got it. Happily it all works together to create a spicy and sensuous blend with a dreamy narcotic drydown. A little smoky, a little sweet, very satisfying and strangely magnetic.
Omniscent Perfume Oil Notes
gardenia, Egyptian tuberose, fig, lilac, violet, kush, Tunisian opium, vanilla, sandalwood, basil, clove, geranium, pink grapefruit
  $130 8ml

This is a strong oily scent, I could really only smell the opium with some violet, I don't like it one bit, and I would not want my man to wear this either.

really tried to like this scent. starts out fresh and flowery, then it dries down to a sickly sweet clingy powder with an acridness to it that made me slightly ill. it lasts and lasts. even after a bath, i could still smell it!

This scent riddles me. I like it, but only for certain days. I think it's a perfect beachy, outdoors kind of scent because, to me, it smells a little like that orange jelly tan accelerator my parents used when I was a kid. More complicated, of course, but along the same lines. A little does go a long way, and too much smells cheap and old, like a dusty house with fabric wallpaper.

(Male Reviewer) Ordered a sample out of curiousity. A thick oil fragrance which starts off with a burst of floral. The basenote however, I can make out a smooth vanilla, and hint of cloves among the predominant mix of florals. Pleasant scent.

Too floral for my taste. I smell tuberose and clove.

Started out green. Quick run through some spices after about 5 minutes - then settled into a Johnson's Baby Powder scent. Not offensive. Not exotic. Not something I'd race out to buy. Another scent that obviously works better on others.

This fragrance is dark and divine with all the elements I enjoy in a scent. It reminds me of being in an opium den.

This smells extremely flowery on me; has this happened to anyone else? I am a little sad because I really don't like florals, although for a floral I suppose this smells alright. I checked out YOSH's website before I ordered this and according to her, this fragrance smells "enchanting" on those with red hair, milky skin, and green eyes, which is me more or less. By "enchanting", does she mean "lilacs"? I am so disappointed. I am also wondering if this got mixed up with the other YOSH sample I ordered, which was "Untitled #1." I feel like a vampy old lady. Since I was not impressed with "Untitled #1" or "Trompeur", I think I might be done with YOSH.

I really wanted to like Omniscent but it fell short of my expectations. Quite frankly it reminded me of potpourri. It wasn't unique or haunting like I had hoped.

How ironic that this perfume is called Ominiscent, that being a play on the word meaning "all knowing." It seems like this was made be an amateur or a child playing with one of those make-your-own perfume kits from the Met. I tried this at Barney's the other day and I hated it when I first applied it and through most of the dry down as I walked around the store shopping. There was a very, very brief moment during which the spices in this mess fought their way to the fore and for about ten seconds I reconsidered by disgust but then those spice notes collapsed and I was back smelling like the awful peachy perfumes that I imagine permeate malls and office bulidings in New Jersey. I had to postpone a dinner date so I could go home and wash it, quite vigorously, off my person. Just awful. . .

Tried to give this one a chance. Weird combination of scents: smells sweet yet rough & raw, smells 'light' yet dark & potent. Too strong for me, even dabbing a little on. Some notes a young person can get away with, but ultimately think it's best suited to an old well dressed french woman. Ginger Ciao MUCH better. 0*

sloppy mess of a scent, not dark, just a mishmash, I'd give it negative stars if I could.

I love, adore, and covet "dark" scents, and this one has some darkness to it, however it is a screaming darkness. Aggressive, sociopathic darkness, full of clangoring dissonance with a drydown that's almost an afterthought. Just seems like a mishmash of conflicting notes combined simply because they lack affinity.

I was disappointed with Omniscent. I am a collector and felt the $130+ price tag was going to produce something complex, unusual and interesting. Ladies, if you like Opium by YSL, you'll love this! A very "lil' dab will do ya" on this one! Sage products are MUCH more intriguing! The bottle is nice though.

I have both Geisha Rouge & Omniscent. I love both but can only wear the YOSH. (GR has a lot more cinnamon in it.) Omniscent is a complex elixir, beautiful, interesting, soft & long lasting. Due to the price point, I would suggest sampling first.

Yosh's darker compositions are the absolute best (in my opinion), including La Contessa, Ginger Ciao, and this one. Omniscent is an olfactory feast--it literally has all types of scent--something for everyone. In that sense it reminds me of another masterpiece, POTL's Luctor et Emergo, which is also pricey but worth every penny. Thank you, Yosh, for taking us on so many fragrant adventures!

Deep yet never heavy, Omniscent is for those who like more dramatic scents. Rouge does not really compare to this, it's very foody whereas this is a lavish woody/incensey scent.

Love this!!!I hard to find unique scents that people have to ask you,"What are you wearing" this perfume is layered with yummy scents! Sexy, sultry, mysterious and still fresh smelling. The longer it wears the more you'll like it!!!!!

I wanted to love this scent, especially after the glowing reviews on this board; however, Omniscent is strong (and I really like strong). The scent dried down smelling like a gingersnap cookie. Not complex and not hypnotic for me. I'm sad :-(

can anyone tell me how this compares to geisha rouge? I'm torn about which to buy?

In the beginning I was turned off by this strong oriental oil, but eventually I really warmed up to it. I can't really smell the gardenia or tuberose, I have to admit, this just smells woody and spicy and a bit smokey to me. After the initial shock, the fragrance mellows into a soft, almost edible fragrance mellowed by soft vanilla pod. One of the best scents from the line, along with Ginger Ciao. Love it!

Something about this is hypnotic, I can't put my finger on it. Yes, it is strangely appealing, in a POTL kind of way, without the Playdoh accord. Nice and comforting, but not a must have.

i had SO much expectation for this scent to be good.gardenia, tuberose, fig, lilac...yet i smelled NONE of those. this smelled spicy and woody, the dry down didn't really make it better. so disappointing.

Burnt rubber, heavy oriental. Discordant notes left a lingering harsh scent. Did last a long time, though.

This is my favorite from Lucky Scent so far. It is smooth, rich and luscious, a little woody, a little spicy, a little fruity, a whole lot of things. A little expensive, but lasts all day and worth every penny.

A really lovely woody, spicy soft fragrance. The drydown is wonderful.

Sensual, sweet, edible, seductive heaven. To my nose it is rich thick dark honey w/ sweet spices and some flowers swirled in. Hypnotic. Instantly has catapulted to the top of my "must always have" fragrances list.
