Can something that’s already perfect become even more so? It can, if the great Bertrand Duchaufour works on it his magic. That is exactly what happened to L’Artisan Parfumeur’s classic, Mure et Musc. In honor of the scent’s 30th anniversary, the company released a pure perfume version, created by the celebrated nez. More intense, long-lasting, creamier, smoother, woodier and “darker” than the original, the extrait highlights the best features of the cult favorite and adds new, unexpected dimensions. The top notes dazzle with their juicy sparkle of citruses and pink pepper... with a quirky green twist provided by the addition of basil. The heart accord, centered on the star note of blackberry now has a delicate and velvety floral quality due to the presence of iris and rose. The fans of Duchaufour will be particularly delighted to recognize his touch in the base notes, which give a new, balsamic, leathery and woody, depth to Mure et Musc. The chypre harmony of patchouli, oakmoss and leather balance sunny fruits and luminous flowers with their delicious, resinous darkness emblematic. Sublime!
Mure et Musc Extrait is presented in an exquisite seven-faceted 15ml bottle with a 15ml refill (that is a generous 30ml total of pure perfume!), both encased in a fine box of black, purple and gold lacquers.
