So warm and sensual it's my signature scent!

This is one GORGEOUS fragrance! I wasn't sure if I would like this because I did NOT care for SL La Myrrhe when I tried it. Well, I immediately fell in love with Oppoponax. I know now that oppoponax is _sweet_ myrrh, which apparently is what made the difference for me. I love sweet. I've loved Shalimar all my life, and now I know it must have oppoponax in it, because I'm faintly reminded of it when I smell this. I say faintly, because this is much lighter, but still very sexy. I also love Les Nereides Douceur de Vanille and look forward to layering it with Oppoponax. I immediately bought a FB of this one.

I luuuuv this. IO deserves all of the raves it gets, it's a truly wonderful and enveloping fragrance, the best opoponax scent out there (sorry, Ligea's Carthusia, as lovely as you are...). Great for daytime and evening wear but it's best when worn to bed :)

Wow! Rich, powerful, deep, resinous gorgeousness. This is a real winter comfort blanket of a scent, & l can see myself curling up with this beauty on many a cold winter's evening. There's a Shalimar-like citrus in the opening, then a smokey amber, then a soft vanilla & some woods...it really is addictive, l have to keep spraying it to experience the development all over again. The sillage is subtle but very sensual up close, & it lasts & lasts...a golden jewel of a scent!

This is such a wonderful perfume! We have been exposed to so many scents that smell like food that I think we have forgotten what real perfume is suppose to smell like. I like cake but I don't want to smell like one. This is a very comforting scent that does NOT smell like cheap aftershave. If I found an aftershave that smells this great I'd buy every bottle I could find. Women can wear this but IMHO this is a male fragrance.

This is a gorgeous dark scent, and keeps getting better the longer you wear it. It's a rather old fashioned scent...think Hollywood in the 40's or even silent movie sirens. It does go on a bit strong but mellows beautifully and lasts forever. It isn't masculine on me, and I wouldn't like it on a man...this is oriental/woody all the way, with a just right sillage. Probably too heavy for summer, but great for winter. If you like resins, incense, vanilla, woods and NO FLOWERS, you will probably like this. I dislike citris and don't smell any here...also don't smell chlorine...lol A winner in my book. I applied before bed, and my SO gave me a rare "you smell gorgeous" compliment the morning after! Worth the price of admission....

L'opopnox le plus beau! Comme un parfumeur de plus de 25 ans, je dois dire que c'est l'exemple le plus beau d'opoponax dans un parfum que j'ai éprouvé. Je ne serais pas capable de créer un meilleur mélange moi-même. Beau du commencement jusqu'à la fin ... lisse, durable et accessible.

This is a gorgeous scent..I disagree with the "grand dame" comment...instead would say it is not for someone who wants to smell like fresh laundry or a cookie. This is a glamourous old school fragrance to be worn with scarlet lipstick and an attitude! This is a fragrance for a femme fatale.

Perhaps it is my body chemistry, but this smelled like an on-sale, bargain-store vanilla candle on me. A scrubber. Horrible. Try with caution.

Hmm, this would smell delightful on my boyfriend. Much too masculine on me. At times though it does remind me of the wonderful Fifi Chachnil. This would smell wonderful on a guy.

I love this but it has a tendancy towards a "Playdough" aroma on me about an hour after application. Once again, as is always the case with mortal flesh, it's all in our chemistry. If you've got the right make-up you'll adore it!

Warm, resinous but transparent, with a hint of vanilla. This is a truly feminine incense--one of the very few I've found (after much testing). Like most incense scents, it needs at least half an hour to "warm up" and show its true colors.

This fragrance takes me back to a Great Aunt who wore Opoponax in the 1920's. Back then It came a cut crystal bottle. Believe it or not I still have some of her original fragrance from the 20's and it smells just a fantastic as the Imperial Opoponax I have just bought. It is warm and seductive and very very sexy and sooo evocative of times long gone. I put it on and I am transported back 80 years. Oh I do wish I had lived then. Sadly, elegant days long gone.

Very sexy! I love it. Works very well on my fiancee, as well, which is a bit disheartening, but I really do love it. Warm, dark. but sweet. Not too dry. I hate dry fragrances. This is really clean, not overpowering.

I just hate unisex fragrances. As nice as some are I cannot bring myself to wear them. Months ago I recieved a sample of this and as soon as I opened the vial all I could think was how masculine this is. Did not even put any on. Tonight I am surfing this site looking for some reviews that attract my attention,see this and remember I have a sample. I finally put some on and it still smelled masculine...for about 10 minutes, then it starts to soften out to a warm sweet comforting scent. This is really, really nice. I will be buying this tonight.

Is this a beautiful scent, or what? I fully expect I'll be getting a full bottle of this, perhaps to layer with Les Nereides patchouli, for the autumn months. Other perfume makers take note: this outfit has a price point that is superb, especially when you consider the high quality of their fragrances.

I got a sample of this a while back and either completely forgot about it, or tried it once and was unimpressed. But I just tried it (again?), and it's really working for me. It does remind me of Piper Nigrum, which I adore, but with perhaps more mystery. It's a bit more fem, dare I say deeper? Which is worth a bottle, (esp at that price).

This smells EXACTLY exactly (did I say exactly?) like my dad's face when I give him a kiss and he uses brut aftershave! My husband said his dad used brut too and it smells just like it (the brut drydown) That's probably why a lot of people say it's comforting; it might remind them of a loved one. I love my dad, but that's not how I want to smell!

When I first put this on, it was very strong and I immediately disliked it, but as it mellowed and dried down it became warm, spicy, and hypnotic. It reminded me of a perfume called Piper Negrum...hmmm... by Lorenzo Villoresi and more expensive. Anyhow, it has great staying power too.

This scent confuses me. I go back and forth between loving it -- it is seriously sexy and warm... to thinking it smells exactly like a common men's aftershave... If I could just get the aftershave idea out of my head, I would be in love with this scent. It is so warm and inviting.

I received this one as a sample. When I first put it on it seemed just okay, then it dried down to a very nice, though very sweet, amber-y smell. It did last throughout the day. I don't think I would buy it for myself because it does not smell very original. However, I could definitely see why someone would buy it. It's quite pleasant.

I actually have to say if you cannot get la Ligea by carthalusia, then this is a close second,howver lacking the stay power and depth of la Ligea. I would recommend this to first time users of oponax because of its stunning effects. It is like opium for me, a hullicinogen, actually and if I wear it after bath and before bed, look out--wild dreams!

I LOVE this! It goes on a bit masculine and then quickly becomes one of the warmest and most intoxicating ambers on the skin. There is just a hint of sweetness and the lasting power is amazing! I get whiffs of this all day long! I have given perfumes a "5" before...but his is truly deserving and hard to beat! And that price...GREAT!! LS did a super job describing this scent!!!

Warm golden wonderfulness! It's all my favorite notes in one fragrance. The vanilla makes it very sweet initially, but it tempered by the warmth & depth of the opoponax. The drydown on me is very soft and powdery yet sexy. Try mixing it with Christiane Celle Calypso Ambre to round out the amber.

Wonderfully sensual, something intriguing, something impossible to forget, the Sweet myrrh of Somalia mesmerizes me, sets my soul in the kingdom of Saba...In Les Nereides line, only the most enchanting Patchouly Antique can gives me the same olfactive, evocative emotion...I just go crazy for Inperial Opoponax, I can' t stand without wearing it once a day.
