Self-assured and sophisticated – this classic chypre opens with a crystalline Sicilian lemon laced with coriander and tarragon, which gives way to the intense green bite of galbanum. The darker green of earthy patchouli comes in to soften and deepen the boldly crisp beginning. This has the hushed feel of an isolated forest, with sun and shadow flickering through the canopy of green leaves and a lush carpet of velvet moss. A languid jasmine weaves through the green, and a sensuous base of amber, oakmoss and musk gives this the dreamy glow of dusk. The sparkling citrus/green accord doesn’t fade away, but percolates over the deeper notes, creating a beguiling mix of dark and light. This is not a scent designed to flirt, but to intrigue. It does not pander or appease, but transports us to a place of serenity and mystery. Timelessly elegant and supremely confident.
