All I got from this sample was peaches ( for some crazy reason ) mixed with flowers. Don't get me wrong it didn't smell bad, but it is not at all what it SHOULD be. AND, it only lasted ( FULLY lasted 45 minutes ) then it quickly dried to nothing. Nice scent but not for me I guess.

If the drydown wasn't so sweet I'd be all over this. An amazing scent, but a little too feminine. Fruit, tobacco, absolutely amazing and quite distinctive.

My absolute favorite fragrance from this house. I had to buy a bottle on the spot at the Scent Bar upon trying it. The Best Tobacco Scent imo.

This just doesn't do it for me.
Maybe it's my body chemistry, but this stuff goes on smelling like pancake syrup (seriously) and dries down to a cinnamon/baby powder type of smell.
Not at all what I expected.

O M G. I received my sample order yesterday. I ordered a handful to test as my allergies do not allow me to wear just ant fragrance. The first scent i tried, Amouage-Gold, did not appeal to me and made my allergies react. I tried B to B this morning and I am ABSOLUTELY enthralled (an no allergies). I love the smell of pipe tobacco and this is enchanting, subtle, confident, seductive. Have got to put this on the wish list for my birthday. My hubby is forever asking what do you want. Now I can tell him...gallons of this :)

This fragrance took a tiny bit of getting used to. But sometimes the ones that pose a challenge prove to be the best (Patchouli 24 which is now my #1 love, almost ended up in the "well....yes but not for me" bin).
At first sample of Back to Black I was totally overcome by the scent of freshly-washed ferret. Very animalic (the chamomile I suppose). That sort of powdery-animalic which, once you've been in the same room with a ferret, you associate with them forever.
A couple of samples later, and I've somehow come to love the little critter here and can appreciate the cherry tobacco notes, which are quite distinct and beautiful, you just need to wait for them a bit.
I find Back to Black ever-changing and very beautiful. It stays close to the skin. I can't imagine wearing this in the summer, but for fall-winter, it is quite warm & seductive. The sweet notes are simply gorgeous - cherry, raspberry, honey - and not at all cloying.
Consider me convinced.

wow i love this its so original, im not good at describing perfumes but i get a cherry tobbacco with a bit of hay and a little cream. It comes off as a sweet herbal mix. Not my usual thing, i tend to like florientals, but this is awesome. Lasts a long time too, and my skin absorbs a lot of perfumes so nothing really stays more than a few hrs, but this lasted all day and coud smell on my clothes days later. Now to save up for a fb....

After smelling it on a Kleenex, I was excited to try it on my skin.
First, I get a real nice sweet tobacco, but after one hour, there's just the smell of baby powder left. Much baby powder.

The description of this perfume is perfect. The initial smell is gently sweet yet rich. The gourmand accords definitely make the first impression of BTB... chamomile and honey with a touch of berries. But the opulence shows up more in the dry down. That is where I find the subtly sweetened tobacco making it's debut. Not at all smoky but, more warm and powdery. I think it's dry down would sit nicely on a man but it's definitely got a great feminine quality. Perfect for winter.

I was so excited about this one. I liked Chergui but was looking for something a little different. Sadly, on me this is sickly sweet cherry tobacco with an undertone of play dough. Chemistry is everything though, I'm glad it's wonderful on so many others.

Ok....I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my sample so when it finally arrived, I was ecstatic! Once I got over the initial excitement, I opened the bottle and dabbed some on my self to see what the crazy hype was about...i mean 'aphrodisiac'...that's a big word to live up to. Anyway, I must say that I was sorely miserably disappointed. Not because it doesn't smell good...it really does...BUT....it smells exactly (i mean identical) to Viktor & Rold "Flower Bomb"...ughh!!! So mad! I can get V&R for about $100 to $150...so this is totally not worth it. Don't believe??? Compare it yourself :-(

When I asked my 9 yr old son if he liked my new perfume, he replied, "It smells just like the powder the lady brushes on my neck after she cuts my hair." And he's right. Not for me.

This is a classic. Maybe a FIFI award winner here. It is sultry and leathery without being masculine. It's smokey notes are not bothersome as in Midnight Oud. Try it, you'll love it!!

Sexy, sultry smoldering on the skin. Thankfully.. the tobacco in this one is NOT cherry on my skin!! A gorgeous blend of spice, tobacco, labdanum, vetiver and subtle patch. The cedar in this is not huge..very soft cedar. If you are into layering, definitely try this with Kilian Pure Oud!! Unbelievable combination!!

This is what I had hoped Serge Lutens' Chergui would be like. They are both rich sweet tobacco scents, but this keeps a nice balance and doesn't get too cloyingly sweet or heavy as Chergui tends to.

Initially starts off a bit powdery. Then dries to a comfortable cherry flavored pipe tobacco smell. Not intoxicating or obnoxious sweet. I enjoyed the smell on myself but received no praises from female/male co-workers.
Stay power lasted most of the workday (8 hours).
I believe this to be more of a selfish cologne that I want to wear and enjoy but does little to stimulate others unless they also enjoy the sultry smell of cherry pipe tobacco.

Another winner from By Kilian. I have 3 of the other scents and plan on getting this as well. On me, this is a combination of Escada Collection and Ginestet Botrytis with an added rich pipe tobacco note. The tobacco is thick and lush and wish it lasted longer on my skin, I love it that much. My skin really pulls a strong honey note. It gets powdery as others have noted and the lasting power is tremendous. One dab to the wrists and you'll be able to smell it at least 12 hours later.

BTB takes you on an olfactory journey weaving in and out tobacco, slightly oudish, at times gourmand, hints of floral, and always a constant powdery accord. Calice Becker works her magic with the oddest combinations of notes. BTB is the best Kilian release to date IMO. Whoever heard of a tobacco and powdery mixed in the same frag. Only an artist could achieve such a glorious combination. One minute it's a sultry evening scent and the next minute it's a barbershop office friendly scent.
I give it a solid 4 stars+. Longevity is 8-12 hours. Sillage is fairly close to the skin making it office friendly for those who don't get to close. For those who give you hugs at work, they'll be coming back for more hugs and neck smelling.
BTB is full bottle worthy even at the going rate of $225.00 for 50ml. An absolute treasure.

Just received my bottle today - this is delicious. Smells like a very smooth cherry pipe tobacco, with a woody almond note in the background. This is going to be great for the winter - I can see myself in a warm sweater with this beautiful scent wafting around me.

This is very well blended. It transforms into the different stages so smoothly. I get lots of almond, saffron and a dominent honey note blended with spicy sweet tobacco. The cardamom is amazing.

this smells like pipe tobacco in a good, sweet, warm comforting way. i really like it. as with most fragrances w/almond in them, i will have to see how this develops over time as most almonds tend to get cloying to me. time will tell...

This is great. It has loads of transformation on the skin - has a great jammy fruit opening and smoothly transitions away from that to more almond/vanilla with only the slightest pop of patchouli. It's on my wishlist now!
