A bit of Baudelaire, a bit of Alice in Wonderland. The young contessa enjoys her first masked ball – the masks and shadows and swirling cloaks; a breathless game of hide and seek in the hall of mirrors In her voluminous silk skirts and tightly laced bustier, she appears to be a fragile and delectable bonbon, but her true nature is hungry and reckless, eager to flirt with the famed Casanova. A swirl of creamy lemon chiffon melts into an enticing blend of peach and white flowers on a velvety bed of vanilla, amber and soft musk. A simple listing of notes merely hints at the beauty of this creation, though. As with their beloved cult favorite, Parfum No. 1, The Pink Room’s Sarah Barton-King has crafted an exquisitely balanced and layered fragrance that gets better and better as you wear it. This scent has the melt-in-your mouth richness of white chocolate and the effervescence of champagne. It is decadent in a breezy, “Let them eat cake” sort of way, and while it would indeed suit a satin-bodiced young queen, we could just as easily picture it on a dazzling young socialite partying all night in Manhattan. Playfully sensual and dangerously feminine. |
