I don't understand the hype on this. A sample of this came with the bottle of Diptyque I purchased. It has a very faint, sweet rubber smell, like smelling a new car tire from a foot away. I also see the "vegetable soup" smell left by another commenter. Only after it dries down do I get a slightly woody note, but the rubber and vegetables are still there.

First impression - too masculine. 20 minutes later - a completely different story. Very much like DG Light Blue, but with a hint of campfire and no headache that Light Blue usually gives me. I've been wearing it for hours and can still smell it. If you like the smell of Light Blue but cannot stand the cheap strong headache inducing base, this one is for you. I'm considering buying a whole bottle as a signature scent.

This is my third bottle. Very unique scent. I tried other samples, but nothing compares to this scent. I do agree with other reviewers that first you can't smell the scent at all. For me it comes back hours later. I also noticed it can smell different on different days. What is amazing is that I could sometimes catch the scent after my clothes had been washed. It is a ghost scent for whoever is wearing it, but people around you would definitely notice it and would compliment it.

I'm glad some other reviewers have pointed out the pungent celery note in this fragrance. On my skin it smelled like vegetable soup... but not in a good way.

I love this layered with Fresh's Pink Jasmine Eau de Parfum. I don't know all the scent jargon words, only that I love the way this smells on the inside of my arm and I want to keep smelling it all day.

It smells very strong on me, like air freshener made out of fizzy lollies. Spicy, but chemical. Warm. As a fan of fresher, cleaner, more citrussy scents, I am not in love with it, but my coworkers are raving about it. One says it smells like "just molten steel", another thinks it smells "sweet and powdery". Fascinating, but really not for me.

Lemony pepper & warm woods, drying down to a lovely ambergris (although it's not listed as a note, that's what l smell). Very nice, unisex, office-appropriate scent.

Escentric 01 is my daily go-to fragrance because I constantly get compliments about how good I smell. It has been made very clear to me that I smell good in a comforting way, nothing in the way of vixen or glamour girl. I smell fresh peppery clean when I apply it and then I smell nothing. I feel like the sillage is low but people comment when I walk through a room, so it's trailing around me and I'm not picking up on it. I will be re-ordering this one.

This is the wimp of the Escentric line, and I much prefer 03. My sister said I smelled exactly like Light Blue, so I guess judging by how many other comments have suggested that, she was right on the money. The Iso E Super smells like burning plastic on me. Kinda gross.. The lime is too sweet, and I smell distance between the notes. Like I said, Escentric 03 is where it's at.

I REALLY hoped this would become my new "IT" fragrance... I was searching for something subtle but that would be noticed. And the fragrance started out bright, crisp and peppery... but it dried down to something distinctly burnt, and I don't mean in a woodsmoke kind of way. It was unpleasant, acrid, and not something I'll repeat. Bummer.

This perfume smells like, a new leather jacket, a leather a smell of a new German car! Hmmm let me smell it again.........black pepper is there but very very veryyy soft not at all major. If you keep smelling the fragrance frequently u might get lost and the notes will seems to disappear. But try smelling it every hour or so, its a magical scent it keeps whispering, whiffs, every now and then. How I use it: Layering it with Tam Dao by Diptyque. First apply Tam Dao, then the magical Escentric 01 as a final touches.

Not the fragrance for me - I could only smell and antiseptic smell and no-one else could smell much on me! Definitely worth trying a sample before investing in this expensive fragrance.
