Three Fragrances ‘for her’

Parfums MDCI fragrances for women are the work of Francis Kurkdjian, one of the most remarquable- and noticed- perfume creators of his generation. Like Pierre Bourdon with whom he trained during his apprenticeship of the perfumer's art, he is one of a handful of exceptional artists whose fame has grown beyond the borders of the companies for which they formulate and the brands which commission them.

The head notes express the exhalations of an enchanting bergamot, enhanced by a touch of Brazilian mandarin and California lemon. The olfactive ballet goes on with heart notes built around Ylang ylang and Egyptian jasmin. Bottom notes of Indian sandalwood, Tonka bean and vanilla ensure a long, harmonious, generous unfurling of the fragrance. A classical and refined oriental floral, Pour le jour.

The general tone is definitely playful and charming: it can best be described as gourmand, delicious and unashamadedly romantic. Headnotes of litchee, peone and hawthorne are followed by irresistible, intoxicating notes of Moroccan and Turkish roses, which, interlaced with violet play on a backdrop of precious cedar, musc and vetyver. A bold and startling composition in which headnotes of bergamot and Italian mandarin, Ylang-Ylang open the way to the entrancing powers of sambac jasmin, tuberose, Turkish rose and wallflower. A precious background of patchouli, Indian sandalwood, vanilla and Haitian vetyver adds the finishing touches to a very special fragrance with an unforgettable, bewitching trail. Born in Paris, Stéphanie Bakouche is a young perfumer with a passion for fragrances since her childhood. With a degree from the famed ISIPCA, the world's leading training institution in perfumes, she creates fragrances true to her emotions, leaving lots of leeway to her intuition and imagination.

Having travelled a lot, her experiences with other cultures have fueled her creativity as would have different musics to a musicia. Her preferences attract her towards woodsy, oriental tones, which she likes to combine, not without a certain audacity, with herbs and spices, for the warmth they provide. She has signed for MDCI a complex formula where the soft and the wild, the fresh and the sensual interact with warm, precious oriental notes.

Here we have an "oriental fern", spicy and aromatic, with a captivating blend of headnotes of grapefruit, bergamot, violet leaves, white thyme, cardamon, lavender and ginger. A warm heart of cedarwood, bourbon vanilla and musc creates a precious and definitely masculine base which here too contribute to a well-balanced construction, true to the demands of the brand: elegant, precious, masculine and extremely sophisticated.

Pierre Bourdon has created the first MDCI fragrance for Men. Pierre is the nose behind successes such as Kouros eau de fraîcheur for Yves Saint Laurent, Jil Sander by Jil Sander, Féminité du Bois for Shisheido, Dolce Vita for Christian Dior, and many others. His contribution to Parfums MDCI is a bold composition which can be described as fresh,woodsy and spicy; the result fits the concept brilliantly.

The challenge was to find a way to express the complex emotions reflected by the powerful classic bust chosen to incarnate strength, power, wealth, and the conflicting feelings inspired by the severe but beautiful portrait crowning the men's flacon.

The formula succeeds by balancing the powerful notes of oak moss, vétyver, sandalwood, rosewood, leather, Darjeeling tea, amber, musc, vanilla, with unexpected, precious, almost feminine colorations brought by jasmin and violet. Bergamot, grapefruit, pineapple, melon, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg ginger, basel, thyme and lavender conjure up a princely and fabulous past.

Great care has been invested into the beauty of the flacon destined to contain the precious exclusive MDCI fragrances. Sculpted with great attention to detail, the immaculate white bisque stoppers capture the beauty of the original crystal models: the serenity of the grazceful feminine figure, the strength of the masculine portrait. Snow-white, stone-hard and soft as silk, bisque is the perfect complement to the precious crystal flacons painstakingly produced in small numbers for collectors. The result is a collection of truly unique but practical spray flacons which simply have no equivalent; they contribute making experiencing the MDCI fragrances an emotional and intense pleasure.

The crystal flacons are presented empty in a hand-made, silk-lined jewel-box, holding in its back two professional 60 ml aluminium containers of your chosen MDCI fragrance.

Each flacon, signed and numbered (from 1 to 100 for each model of the Artist Edition, which makes of it a truly Limited Edition) is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
