Here's what other people are saying about Ennui Noir...
I love myrtle and it's a difficult note to find these days. Ironically, it was the most popular perfume note in Cleopatra's time (she had her own perfume workshop in Alexandria, which has been excavated by archeologists so we know the scents). Julius Caesar wore it too, as did pretty much every Roman, rich or poor. However, I'm always wary about heliotrope (rotting vampire) and patchouli (dirty hippie), which tend to overwhelm my sensorium and trump any other notes. However, Ennui Noir manages to rein in the heliotrope and patchouli so it's barely there in a long dry down. The lavender plays well with the myrtle for a bit of an old school masculine fougere, but the vanilla & vetiver pull feminine. So universal gender maybe, YMMV.

Vanilla gummies. Pineapple sherbet. Cotton candy. Peach rings or marshmallows. And yet...it does somehow have a “fragrance” smell. Some underlying, slightly masculine smell. It’s like the county fair candy version of Creed’s Aventus. Would suit an androgenous woman—maybe a masculine woman, one in a power suit. Not exactly unisex—more like hermaphroditic. Tilda Swinton. Intriguing. Layered. I keep sniffing it to figure out what is so familiar about it. I like it—but I’m not sure what for. Too feminine for me to wear. Maybe try again in the Summer. Fragrance definitely does not match the bottle.

This is by far one of the best parfumes in the world. Unum as a whole is unbelievably under-rated. Easily competes wtih the best.

Ennui Noir is calm & comfort. I haven't figured out the "noir" part. I don't do lavender but happen to LOVE this one, so it goes to show that this is an example of one of those rare exceptions I would happily wear, due to finding it so highly addictive. UNUM = UNO!
