All the drama of a diva, all the radiance of a legend, Opus 1144 comes bedecked with the glittering sparkle of citrusy gems atop an opulent, Shalimar-style ball gown of sumptuous vanilla and heady jasmine. A soft, lacy veil of benzoin and iris powder masks her eyes, while musky, sexy ambergris drapes around her shoulders, and ripples of smoky leather, dark resins, incense, and spicy sandalwood swirl at her feet.

purchased full bottle after buying the candle first.. I was initially tempted by comparisons to OG Shalimar, which was and always will be my lifetime perfume...it was the first commercial perfume scent that imprinted in my memory as a child. ...this is likely as close as it gets...it feels like I'm sweating the smell out of my pores when I'm wearing it. It wears like it's coming right out of you. It makes me think of large, smooth slabs of luxurious high grade marble. And candles on altars. And expensive cashmere against naked bodies. Power. Beauty.

Easily one of the top Eau De Parfumes I have ever encountered. I still have yet to find a cologne resemble Unum's. Always a job well done.

I can't decide whether this is better described as a time machine back to classic-era Shalimar or as an uncanny modern descendant. The brief is accurate -- sparkly moving to pillowy-femme moving to a gorgeously dry woody-leather drydown -- but you have to actually wear it to catch all the nuances, particularly a slight but thrilling tin (!) note that periodically moves into focus just long enough to loft that delicious vanilla into something truly special. (Signs point to ambergris, serving the same purpose here it did back in Miss Dior; civet did that work in original-blend Shalimar.) Splendid.

Why bother buying the messed up Shalimar when you can have this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I needn't bother to nitpick at the details, since far better trained noses than mine have dissected Opus 1144. Anyone missing their beloved Shally should go for this instead!!!!!!!!!!!! Pure YUM!!!!!!!!!!! 5 Impulsive Stars*

This is on my wish list! Starts off bright and sweet (citrus and vanilla), then warm and sexy, a little later spicy (leather?), and finally - I don't know, I look forward to finding out! This reminds me of art galleries and smooth jazz in New Orleans. Definitely on my wish list!

Quite a sexy scent here! This reminds me a little bit of Musc Ravageur, but I feel I like this better. Like a white cashmere sweater for the cold winter months…and one to wear when you are looking for some “Mommy and Daddy” time!;) It’s opening is a bit confusing, with the mandarin and bergamot giving you a hint of citrus, but the dry down presents the musk, vanilla, amber and sandalwood. Lasts quite a long time, with decent projection. Thumbs up! Quite luxurious!
