Here's what other people are saying about Vetiver Royal Bourbon...
I'm taking the plunge and making this my fourth full bottle purchase! :D (I happily own Violettes Du Czar, Chypre Mousse & Reve D'Ossian.) But I'm doing so only half-blindly based on appealing positive reviews I've read here and elsewhere as well as equally appealing (or appalling) and interesting not-so-positive reviews I've read elsewhere! I am totally smitten with you, Oriza.

A magnificent barbershop or mens' club fragrance. I smell sandalwood supported by vetiver. The sandalwood is sweet and the vetiver is a perfect dry spicy, earthy support. I love this, and I am nowhere near 80. I grant you it is manly and mature, but it is not for the super seniors only. Comes on strong and has big time silage, but it doesn't have terrific longevity. Very worthwhile for those loving classic scents.

You can smell the natural vetivert oil, surrounded and embellished by other notes, which bring out its piquancy. Not sure about the 'rare exception' claim as there are various other 'vetiver bourbon' perfumes on the market, all stating they are based on the oil from reunion. For the vetiver fan though, this is a must, taking its place alongside other excellent interpretations of the theme such as those by Guerlain, Carven and Villoresi.

I'm 54 years old... so I'm not looking for racy, younger scents. I like stuff with class, but preferably adventurous and a little off-kilter. I should have guessed from the packaging and the vintage of this blend (1914?!?)that this would be very... ummm... trying to be nice here... TRADITIONAL? This is an elderly gentleman's vetiver. It's vaguely reminiscent of the air freshener that's spritzed automatically by those little plastic wall-mounted devices in the public men's rooms of swanky hotels. I'll revisit this when I'm 80, and my wife is wearing purple dresses with red hats, and we're vacationing at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. It's obviously a high quality blend... it smells expensive. But I'm just not ready to go there yet....

Too masculine for me but smells really nice anyway. I smell lots of leather and vetiver, and it smells totally natural. There was definitely mint, at least in the beginning, and that gave it a nice fresh touch until it dried down more. Definitely recommended for men.

Great. Classy. One of the best if not the best vetiver I've tried. If you're a fan of vetiver sample this n make up your mind on it before they raise the price. For $165 it's an absolute steal
