The Scoop

Delicate and inky petals softly exhale their gorgeous aroma into the languid air. Luscious, deep, and juicy - it's iris uncensored. As the scent develops on the skin, you'll notice that there are a few tricks up those folded purple sleeves: rich cedar, mimosa, and raspberry give Impossible Iris a distinctive multicolored silhouette, and ylang-ylang and jasmine round out the well-chosen bouquet. Impossible Iris embodies a cool sweetness and woodsy heart that truly bring out the sometimes shy beauty of the iris, letting her truly shine without apprehension. As you may have guessed, Impossible Iris happens to be impossibly easy to fall in love with.

This is such a beautifully bright and lively scent. I've sampled a few times and, for all the delight it gives me to wear this scent, I can't bring myself to buy it. Is it wonderful? Yes, absolutely. Overpriced? Yes, absolutely.

I get a very cool & clean iris. It's not a transparent fragrance though. The drydown also reminded me of a stronger scent of tender care soap. but still I like it because it's clean and very office-appropriate.

ScentBar's description of notes & smell can't be improved on, so I'll comment on other aspects. This sublime dream lasts 4 to 6 hours on me. An unexpected bonus of gorgeous well thought out packaging that won't end up in a landfill. The inkwell bottle can be reused since the atomizer is not crimped on. The outer package is hard plastic/resin that screws together for storage. I'll be getting another full bottle of this one and that's rare for me.

I adore iris-based scents, so I was excited to try this one. I like it very much. It's not as "cold" as other iris scents I have. In fact, it's rather sweet, but in a nice, grown-up way. Not in a cotton candy way. I'm not an expert, but I can smell the jasmine and the framboise (which I think is what sweetens it). I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't because of the weak staying power. I knocked off another star because I truly believe this is WAAAY overpriced. Seriously. I think it's high time the niche perfume industry (yes, it is an industry; don't let anyone fool you into thinking it's not just because you don't find their scents at the mall) got down from their golden elitist pedestal already.
