The opening is so so beautiful. Like you’re picking fresh lemons/oranges off the tree. Absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the dry down was not as impressive on my skin. It turned into a citrus soap type of vibe. If the opening notes were there through to the dry down this would be a super winner for me.

This is a journey! Beginning with notes of almost gourmand cherry cola and developing a close wearing undertone of skin mask that puts me in mind of Petite Naté. Amber musk develops as the main note with sweet hints of jojoba.

God, I love this. One of my favorite Xerjoffs (Dhajala and Nio being my absolute favorites). Renaissance is SO fresh, so clean...but minus the really heavy musk you find with some MFK scents. The lime and the mint are the best aspects of this, in my opinion. This will be a part of my permanent collection forever, and one that I will continue to reach for again and again. Thank you, Xerjoff!

Beautiful. Rich full ingredients that are thrilling in their vibrancy. This is a floral style eau de cologne with baroque flourishes. It is quality, but it does not sing the right tune on me. Possibly it's a little too decoratively ornate and more than what I was hoping for.

Fantastic ingredients. You smell each note in this intense full mixture, especially for an eau de cologne style perfume. My only complaint is that the intensity of the the Lily of the Valley gives this cologne a decidedly airy floral edge that is not quite what I was hoping for.

Goodness Me! Another wonderful scent. The first spray is intense and then the dry down is sublime. Buy it or find a gentleman who will!

Having experienced the tremendous quality of many of the others from this house - I felt 1861 was a bit of a letdown. Citrus notes are clearly difficult to get intensity along with longevity from. I was hoping if anyone could master it - it would be xerjoff .... afraid not so in this case.

Outstanding! Quality is the first word that comes to mind when I smelled this. I find that the best fragrances are ones that evoke certain memories, like seeing or remembering a long lost love. This fits that bill. Job well done.
