al02

The Scoop
Arturetto Landi’s al02 is full of Italian drama and makes a beautifully stylish entrance, striding in with fresh fruits and gorgeous spices that call to mind fire lit rooms and something exotic simmering nearby. On a marble table is a vase of new blooms of jasmine, carnation and roses, while the undercurrent of simmering cinnamon and vanilla are never far away. Super soft and enveloping, this spicy concoction is positively squishy yet has an undeniable aphrodisiac quality with its sexy and spicy exterior and warm vanilla, sandalwood and tonka bean interior.
al02 Notes
Mandarin, lemon, bergamot, peach, plum, jasmine, rose, carnation, cardamom, cinnamon, incense, labdanum, tonka bean, vanilla, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, white musk

at first i thought FB, fer sure, but i ALWAYS think that at first. only time will tell. i definitely get orange at first application, then spice. but for me, this reminds me of my neighbor who lived behind us growing up in the 70s who made massive amounts of candles, it has a candle wax smell to it, not sure which note is contributing to that? it DOEs remind me of sushi imperial and im thinking it may be too masculine for me. granted almost 95% of the time go for male scents(im female) lately been craving something feminine.

in LOVE with this one ... on my wish list. soft spice gourmand but not overly sweet haunting.. it will NOT let you forget what you are wearing...

This haunted me for a good month as I deliberated. I absolutely loved it from first sniff. It's stimulating on the top open in a luxurious hypnotizing citrus spice rush, fruity in an aged fine wine-like sense, soothingly spicy, and is solidly held in a warm complex vanilla/amber base. The woods in this are very subtle and I don't consider it woody at all. The dry down stays consistent with the opening and mid experience, which I am incredibly thankful for. It would be a crime to have it dry down to a numb vanilla, and it doesn't. It stays true and swirls amidst it's entire pyramid to my nose. The longevity is top notch and will last all day and can still echo it's magic after a night of sleep - all this without ever getting annoying. Beware, it takes commitment to wear this because sillage is significant for the first hour or so, and lasts on days if sprayed on clothes. This is more potent and spicy than Sushi Imperiale by Bois 1920. These two are closely related, but Sushi is lighter, cooler, and doesn't have the same consistency of longevity. al02 - while not having any magnificent name, bottle, or packaging - is a high end enigmatic gem of an oriental.

Oh my. I'm becoming slightly obsessive about this one. At first whiff it's very richly fruity. Not giggly schoolgirl fruity, but as Lucky Scent describes something gently warming on the stove fruity. Um, dare I say luscious? Oddly, for a brief period the fragrance disappears on me but then the spices start to announce themselves and they are perfectly balanced with the fruit. Just gorgeous. In the drydown I have, on the rare occassion, caught a whiff of the dreaded Obsession perfume my mother has worn since the 80s but it's brief and fleeting and then my lovely spices come back. I don't catch any of the vanilla on it's own per se, but I think that's one of the ingredients that helps to make this so round and voluptuous. This is a cozy scent without being boring. I might have to add it to my wishlist.

A scent for international men of mystery everywhere. A wonderful balance of spice and floral scents.

Oh boy! This is lushness at its absolute best! I normally despise fruits and most flowers in perfumes, but this is balances so well with al that other stuff (tonka, vetiver) and while the fruits do kind of dominate, especially at the start, this is divine. A grown up scent while still being playful. Ive never smelt anything like it. i normally go for gourmands and orientals. But this is mmmmmm!!!! Must buy me a FB :)

This is a lush fruity/spicy scent -- quite seductive and sophisticated, with great staying power. I'm not a fan of gourmands in general, but this is so well balanced with wood and incense notes that it's hard to classify. Not an everyday scent for me, and better in cool weather. Definitely worth a try.

This reminded of The heart is deceitful above all things by Yosh. But not as mossy.

I liked this much better than al01 - it had some character to it. The vetiver gives it a nice, spicy edge. Despite all the foody notes, this really isn't a foody scent at all - it's more grown up than that.
