Fiore d'Ambra

I adore this scent . It’s unsettlingly beautiful and made my heart literally flutter . If you like YSL Opium .. the carnation in this will make you swoon . This scent is substantial but not dense … slightly salty , somewhat sweet with amber ( the base is a lighter Ambra Aurea , ) and a mysterious addictive carnation note . Always unisex . Long lasting and stays closer to the skin . I have both Ambra Aurea & Fiore d’Ambra . I prefer Fiore d’ Ambra . It’s a matter of preference only . Fiore is about carnation , ambergris , amber . Ambra Aurea is mostly amber . 5 stars . Truly nothing like this scent .

Very powerful perfume.I

While I adore the Ambra Aurea and it's luscious notes, this one was a distinct disappointment. The afternotes were burned rubber. Another review described a 'scat' note and that's exactly what it has - so beware with this one. I have the body chemistry that wears scents well - they don't change on me from initial test to full-blown wear, so it wasn't my body chemistry that changed it. There is some note in this perfume that has an unpleasant, acrid note.

A vanilla-gourmand amber backed with a haze of cinnamon-inflected incense (that would be the opium note). The opening chord is incredibly carnal, but things calm down into a presentable condition as drydown kicks in; you emerge into society bright-eyed and suspiciously glowing, but your hair’s only a little disheveled and your shirttails are almost entirely tucked back in.

When I first smelled this sample i was hooked. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist where I applied it. I didn't want to spend 250 dollars but i had no choice. My mind kept coming back to that gorgeous smell. I wish that I could describe it bur it was the most exquisite odor.

It's hard to get a true sense of these scents when you're using a sample rather than a spray, but still, this scent is gorgeous. It does end up soft and powdery on me, but as someone who's never liked the "baby powder" scent this one somehow works beautifully. I likely won't get a full bottle because these perfumes are pricey and there are others that I like better, but it'll lounge in my wish list just in case.

Ambers can be tricky. Some are too resinous, others too sweet, others too vanilla/caramel, but this one is just right. It has all three of those elements in perfect balance.

Profumum, never stops to amaze me, every of its perfumes has strong power and projection when aplied correctly, this is a particular smell: strong, amberish, floral,incense, sweet. You can clear visualize a man or woman from the 90s in their mid 40s, wearing this scent. Its rich, makes you always look to smell again and and enjoy it. It can easily be a personal note. This is a more femenine version of Ambra Aurea.

Cheap head shop incense. Overwhelming. Choke worthy initially. I'm certain my former college hippie roommate burned this by the box. Fortunately this dies off and leaves incense. Yes still incense, but like the fragrance of that Buddhist temple still lingering on my clothes.

This smells fantastic. I bought Ambre Aurea and got a sample of this, and I wasn't sure which one I liked better, so I immediately bought this too. The combo of vanilla/spice/animalic is nothing like I have ever experienced. Superb quality. Frequent touch-ups aren't needed, but I tend to spray over and over because this stuff is addictive.

Smooth, smooth, smooth. Fiore D'Ambra is the amber sister to Guerlain's original SDV. It has a bit of smokiness and depth, with just enough sweetness to balance (in the opposite way that SDV works; SDV is layers of vanilla with just enough smokiness to make it sexy and interesting). Really a great scent. Love it. Definitely going on my wish list.

I bought a bottle of the sublime MPG Ambre Precieux and luckyscent sent samples of four other ambers, among them Fiore d'Ambra. I post this review only to issue a warning: if you are sensitive to the indoles in jasmine, picking up unmistakable "scat" notes, beware this scent. I don't know if the source is a very indolic jasmine or liberal doses of civet or castoreum (which I can handle more easily than jasmine, perhaps because perfumers tend to use these notes with a lighter hand), you will certainly detect it in Fiore d'Ambra. On the other hand, if you love dense, indolic jasmine, you might be in heaven with this softly ambery edition.

Smelling this out of the sample vial was lovely. Putting it on my skin, not so much simply because it disappeared immediately. All I'm left with is a faint sweetness that I'm not sure I'd be able to identify as amber. Obviously my chemistry just doesn't mix with this scent at all, which is a shame. Am glad to hear it works so well with so many others, though!

Tried this as a sample and came back for a bottle! Smells divine on my skin, rich, creamy and intoxicating. Completely in love with it!!

Great quality salty amber that is closer to YSL's Opium than to Ambra Aurea or Ambre Sultan. While YSL's is darkly spicy this one is sunny and chewy.

I don't really get the ambergris or opium, but I smell a touch of true fossilized amber, which has a bit of smoke to it, almost like a rubbery smell. Just a bit, though. The rest is resinous "ambers" like benzion and balsam and labdanum. Very warm and not overly sweet with a touch of powder, which comes with resin. Longevity wasn't very good on me, nor as the sillage. For this price I'd want something that lasts at least 7 or 8 hours.

I agree with many others that Ambra Aurea is far better than this. It's not what l was expecting; it opens with very spicy, medicinal & quite masculine notes. When the amber does appear it's musty & powdery, not rich or resinous, & it takes a long time before it sweetens. Sillage & longevity are disappointing on me.

The prestigious, glorious, heavenly diamond of Ambers. This turned out to be the best out of the following: Ambra Aurea by Profumum, Ambre Russe by Parfum d'Empire, Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens, L'eau d'Ambre Extreme by L'Artisan Parfumeur, and various other pure Amber oils and paste. Fiore d'Ambra is refined without the funk stink of Ambre Sultan, Ambra Aurea that I found. It's an uplifting ethereal rich amber with a vanilla like warmth. And at the top is just a hint of spiciness that is so fine it makes the whole vessel skyrocket. I was haunted for a month by this as a sample, but the price made me seek as many other options as possible. This is the winner - very precious, rare, and expensive. Sillage is high in my opinion, and longevity is satisfying. I can still smell this on my skin waking up in the morning. The magic of Fiore sits just above unisex to me, into a feminine leaning, but ultimately transcends gender in it's opulent luxury.
