Jacques Cavallier

Country: France

Born in Grasse in 1962 to a family of perfumers, Jacques Cavallier was more or less destined to carry on the mantle. By 10 years old, he was apprenticing during the summers in fragrance labs, and after getting his baccalaureate degree he trained at Charabot, supplementing his intensive training schedule with additional work with his perfumer father. Later, he joined the fine fragrance team at Quest, then PFW, then finally Firmenich in 1990, where he paired up with another up-and-comer named Alberto Morillas. As the creator of such huge hits as L'Eay d''Issey for Issey Miyake and Jean Paul Gaultier Women, his legacy was forever enshrined in 2004 when he was awarded the Prix François Coty.
